Arthur T Knackerbracket has found the following story:

Preliminary results from a new study show that partners of people who have insomnia may try to be supportive by engaging in a range of behaviors that unintentionally contradict treatment recommendations.

Results show that 74 percent of partners encouraged an early bedtime or late wake time, which is in direct conflict with the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTI). Forty-two percent also encouraged doing other things in bed, such as reading or watching TV, and 35 percent encouraged naps, caffeine or reduced daytime activities.

"It is possible that partners are unwittingly perpetuating insomnia symptoms in the patient with insomnia," said lead author Alix Mellor, PhD, postdoctoral research fellow and coordinator of the Researching Effective Sleep Treatments (REST) project in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University in Victoria, Australia. "It is therefore important for more data to be collected to determine whether insomnia treatments may better benefit patients and their partners by proactively assessing and addressing bed partner behaviors in treatment programs."

[...] Results also show that bed partners made accommodations that affected their own functioning, including their sleep and life outside of work. This may explain why partners who attempted to be helpful experienced more anxiety, even though the insomnia patients perceived the relationship to be more satisfying.

Few jobs allow for this level of flexibility. You have to be up when everyone else is up and our society has settled on business starting around 0800 or 0900. This means getting up at 0630 to 0730.

What the fuck is a "job" ?

Seriously, when is Trump going to MAGA because there still aren't any "jobs" in America. The labor participation rate isn't changing. Since the Great Recession we've regressed to the 1970s level of employment when women were housewives and men could afford to own a home and support a family with the income from one factory job. That kind of economic opportunity doesn't exist in this decade, and instead of women in the kitchen being unemployed by choice, now we have men in the basement unemployed not by choice but because women have taken all the jobs.

The last time there were large numbers of unemployed men, ROOSEVELT MADE AMERICA GREAT by making the government the employer of last resort. Men were employed by the Works Progress Administration to build infrastructure in this country. WHAT THE FUCK IS TRUMP DOING.

Trumpu-sama is going to hold the working class's rage in check for a few more years. Silicon Valley will come in and replace more jobs with robots. Then everybody dies.

You will never see such a Works program from Trump or the GOP because that's completely antithetical to their economic philosophy. Only Democrats could deliver such a program, and they are on the outs because they have some peculiar social hang ups and preferences which they refuse to compromise on. People vote on a list of priorities and these social issues are first in line for too many people to accept a Democrat even if economically they'd benefit from them being in office.

I don't want a government job installing solar panels if I have to work next to a Mexican and a faggot! Just give me a disability cheque.

If only unemployed men could get disability payments for being socially disabled, in other words not being gossipy backstabbing bitches like every woman. Too bad feminism dictates equality cannot exist and all men are criminals. It is not a coincidence that women are buying guns in record numbers. They know the prisons are not big enough to hold all men so women will need to kill the men one at a time.

The unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in many, many years. Lowest it's been in 16 years. Because of what I've done for you, the American workers, in my first 100 days. I've nominated Neil Gorsuch, from the Supreme Court, to the Supreme Court. Very good for American business, for American workers, who I always, always put first. Look at my Contract with the American Voter, 10 very important pieces of legislation. To cut the taxes, cut the regulations. I've taken us out of Paris, I mean, I'm going to take us out of the Paris agreement. To lift that burden from our industry. For American workers. Believe me, it's not easy being your President. I thought it would be easier. I miss my old life. I used to sleep with my wife. In the same apartment. Nice little apartment we had, in New York City. Cute little place we had. Now I'm going through a divorce. I'm kidding. Not going through a divorce, but it's like that. She's in New York, in New York City, and I'm here in Washington. Draining the swamp in Washington. Not screwing my wife. Not fucking. Which, believe me, I'm great at. The best. I'm not kidding. And I'll tell you, folks, not always sleeping. Not all through the night. I have a button on my desk, a red button. And when I push that button, my butler comes. With a Coke for me. But it's a lot of work. A lot more than in my previous life. But plenty of work for Americans. #MAGA #winning

Sometimes, you're amusing. Not often, but sometimes. This? Utter bullshit. We have often discussed how government falsifies the unemployment rate. It's easy when you get to define "unemployment". "Oh, you don't count anymore, because your unemployment benefits have run out!"

The unemployment figures reported by government are all but meaningless. Numbers can't even be compared from one decade to the next, because they change the formula.

If you're interested in learning more, I would suggest that you start with shadowstats. Shadowstats isn't the end-all and be-all authority on government statistics. Others here have convinced me that they aren't always on target. But, they DO tell the truth, or much closer to the truth, than gubbermint does.
