From Reuters:

A Pakistani counter-terrorism court has sentenced to death a man who allegedly committed blasphemy on Facebook, a government prosecutor said on Sunday, the first time someone has been handed the death penalty for blaspheming on social media.

[...] Shafiq Qureshi, public prosecutor in Bahawalpur, about 500km (300 miles) south of provincial capital Lahore, said Raza was convicted for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad, his wives and companions.

"An anti terrorism court of Bahawalpur has awarded him the death sentence," Qureshi told Reuters." It is the first ever death sentence in a case that involves social media."

Oddly - or not so oddly - once again Aristarchus contributes nothing to the conversation. It is more his style to attempt to attack the person with whom he disagrees. Trolllollollollol

He used to post more insightful stuff, but I feel his pain. After years now of dealing with close minded fools who think they are "so very smart^TM" it gets tiring to respond to everything with well formed arguments. Most of the time the arguments are quickly dismissed and you realize your effort was just a fart in the wind. So it boils down to irritation and "you're wrong dummy" since so many people are incapable of internalizing new information that conflicts with their world view.

    ISLAM BAD! RAWWRRRR
xenophobic over generalizing nonsense. christians pull the same shit, other countries do horrifying things to their people for reasons other than religion.

The answer is not xenophobic tribalism, but it isn't kumbaya hold hands and heal the extremists either. But the extremists on both sides only think in extremes, a major part of why discussions go nowhere.

Ah, yes, the "we made awesome posts and got ignored" argument. I think rather the above passage is an example of your life-long efforts. It's sad that so many of our blowhards could have just learned how to argue and reason some point in the distant past. So much could be different now. As to aristarchus, he never was more insightful. My experiences with him got quite nasty.

And the platitudes about everyone doing it.

Love you, too, khallow! But isn't this a rather obscure way of saying you lost arguments to me? I love how your idea of "learning how to argue" is to accept your innovative definitions and agree with you. Tarbaby, bro! Tarbaby!
