From Reuters:

A Pakistani counter-terrorism court has sentenced to death a man who allegedly committed blasphemy on Facebook, a government prosecutor said on Sunday, the first time someone has been handed the death penalty for blaspheming on social media.

[...] Shafiq Qureshi, public prosecutor in Bahawalpur, about 500km (300 miles) south of provincial capital Lahore, said Raza was convicted for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad, his wives and companions.

"An anti terrorism court of Bahawalpur has awarded him the death sentence," Qureshi told Reuters." It is the first ever death sentence in a case that involves social media."

    Historical reviiiiiisionismmm

No one is saying there isn't a problem with some Islamic groups, but hey look back at the US and you find some loony Christian sects doing their own harm. You can find extremist groups willing to bomb, assault, and murder people for having the wrong beliefs.

I'll stick to being a liberal where we use words to point out wrongthink, and I'll happily feel superior to people such as yourself who have a glimmer of a clue yet are still mired down in hypocritical bullshit/propaganda. You have to drop your cherished belief that the US is somehow superior to any other country, only then can you view reality with the rose colored glasses. I was lucky enough to have someone hammer me with facts in my teens. I stuck to denial for a few years, but as I learned more I realized my denial was just a stubborn refusal to face the ugly reality which tore away the comforting blanket of USA land of FREEDOM and HOPE! The US isn't the worst, but it sure isn't the shining city on the hill.

And what would be the point of this exercise? Look back far enough and we're all single cell life forms. Look at a sufficiently large group and you'll find crazies. "Some Islamic groups" includes a number of governments in the Middle East. It's a bigger problem as a result than anything in the developed world.
