Verizon going to hold Yahoo email addresses hostage for money, maybe? Maybe kill off that service altogether and nuke everyone's emails, first handing copies over to the FBI?

And their Instant Messenger, that going to be screwed with too? Sort of like what Microsoft did to Skype?

I suspect it'll be the groups, in addition. I was/am on some yahoo groups for small hobby things (ham radio projects, stuff like that) and those people panic'd hard around merger time and considered their options WRT moving to google groups or groups.io or whatever. Some moved, some didn't.

Mergers are expensive, usually don't improve anything for the end users, generally a net loss for the end users who have to finance it all.

I really don't care what Verizon does with my many hundreds of Y! email accounts.
