The Secret Service will be relaxing the rules for marijuana users to an extent in the hopes that it will increase their pool of candidates. It's becoming impossible for the agency to track down people who have not used due to the wide acceptance and acknowledged medical benefits for things like addiction, stress and depression.

Meanwhile, Jeff Sessions is looking to crack down on medical providers. Citing things such as: psychosis, respiratory issues, IQ loss and that it has no accepted medical use in the united states.

They shouldn't be relaxing these rules at all, they should be making them even stronger. After all, the Attorney General himself thinks weed is the worst drug there is and wants to increase prosecution of it, including medical uses. It's completely hypocritical for the Secret Service to go against this line of thinking in the DOJ by relaxing the rules just because they're having trouble getting recruits. They need to stick to their ideology, regardless of the consequences.

I really hate hypocrisy. If you believe something strongly despite all evidence to the contrary, then stick with it, and suffer the consequences.

At least that's from before every single elected official was handed an excuse to ask for bodyguards yesterday, triggering a sudden increase in recruitment.

triggering a sudden increase in recruitment.

No, this will trigger a sudden increase in attempted recruitment. But the Secret Service is obviously having trouble with recruitment if they're resorting to relaxing their drug-use rules.

I can't tell your level of sarcasm here or if you're 100% serious. Sessions is an authoritarian windbag and I am VERY glad that our various agencies don't immediately bow down to whatever crazy shit "the boss" may think. This is a completely reasonable change of policy and represents a major shift towards sanity for our country. If the SS is more chill about weed then the rest of the country might feel a little safer about it as well. Maybe they'll realize that the propaganda was beyond irrational.

Fuck sessions, he needs to be voted out of office before his little goblin fingers cause more damage to our country.

I'm 100% serious; did you miss the part where I said how much I hate hypocrisy? It's hypocritical in the extreme for an institution to demonize pot use on one hand, and then relax its rules regarding pot use for recruiting people for guarding the most powerful person in that institution on the other.

And it's wrong for various agencies to not immediately bow down to whatever crazy shit "the boss" may think. If they don't agree with that shit, they should resign. Having people continuing to work for the boss while disagreeing completely with him isn't doing anyone any favors.

If the SS is more chill about weed then the rest of the country might feel a little safer about it as well.

How are they going to feel safer when Sessions publicly wants to stick them in prison for life for smoking it? And how are they not going to feel that this is just another example of the cops getting special powers and privileges the rest of us don't, and not having to follow the same laws the rest of us do?

Fuck sessions, he needs to be voted out of office before his little goblin fingers cause more damage to our country.

Sessions can't be voted out; that's an appointed position. You had your chance to vote against him when you (collectively) voted for Trump and the various GOP congresspeople who confirmed his nomination.

yes, they should feel the pain of their stupid positions/decisions. otherwise, they'll never get it and it will never change.
