The US Supreme Court has partially lifted an injunction against President Donald Trump's travel ban.

The Supreme Court said in Monday's ruling: "In practical terms, this means that [the executive order] may not be enforced against foreign nationals who have a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.

"All other foreign nationals are subject to the provisions of [the executive order]."

Mark this down as a win for Donald Trump. The path to entry into the US for immigrants and refugees from the affected nations, if they don't have existing ties to the US - either through family, schools or employment - just became considerably harder.

The decision marks a reaffirmation of the sweeping powers the president has traditionally been granted by the courts in areas of national security. There was fear in some quarters that the administration's ham-fisted implementation of its immigration policy could do lasting damage to the president's prerogatives. That appears not to be the case.

I really don't think that an applicant for immigration who is turned down is entitled to a trial by jury. This stuff is administrative, after all. You're entitled to a trial by jury in a criminal case. I guess some civil cases get juries. But, administrative minutia doesn't warrant a full fledged trial. Show of hands here, please. All those who have had their driver's licenses revoked (or know someone whose license was revoked) who was offered advice that he was entitle to a trial by a jury of his peers, please raise your hands.

A jury decides fact; a judge decides law.
That is how case law is made.

You may be confused by the fact that certain minor criminal-code offenses (including those that could lead to a revocation of your license) are explicitly forbidden a trial by jury; this is strictly a matter of efficiency. However, a lawsuit in which the facts are disputed (is this a credible claim or a bona fide relationship?) is necessarily afforded a trial by jury at the expense of the litigants.

      Come again?

"It may not be amiss, here, Gentlemen, to remind you of the good old rule, that on questions of fact, it is the province of the jury, on questions of law, it is the province of the court to decide. But it must be observed that by the same law, which recognizes this reasonable distribution of jurisdiction, you have nevertheless a right to take upon yourselves to judge of both, and to determine the law as well as the fact in controversy. On this, and on every other occasion, however, we have no doubt, you will pay that respect, which is due to the opinion of the court: For, as on the one hand, it is presumed, that juries are the best judges of fact; it is, on the other hand, presumable, that the court are the best judges of the law. But still both objects are lawfully within your power of decision." -- First Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Jay

Alt right Hitler saluting gunfucker, should have lost your virginity before you joined the Navy so you wouldn't fuck every willing sailor and dirty whore that crosses your path. Looks like you brought back a serious case of "the stupids" and after years of festering it has even evolved digital carrier waves! Anyone with a mind as closed as yours is an unwitting suspect, their stupidity will be turned against them and finally amplified. Your face stomping boot licking attitude is traitorous to the principles we hold dear in the US.

I think its time we got the B Ark loaded. I'll take death by phone flu over the steady grind into idiocracy we've got going on now.

Whores have STDs and are generally a pretty sad way to get laid. But I'm not surprised you think that is an insult. You probably don't trust people who don't drink or swear either.

Lovely. Proving my point once again that when you degenerate motherfuckers slip and show a crack in your human-suits, you damn yourselves more thoroughly than anything any of your opponents could say or do to you would.

Just die and go (back?) to Hell where you belong, will you? We don't have time for your useless bullshit.

Ever notice how many of the people I'm calling degenerates, like Milo Yiawhatthefuck, are also sexual degenerates? He's a pedarast, for fuck's sake!

Now you know very well that "degenerate" has other and if anything more common meanings, such as "degenerate case," "degenerate matter," and so forth. The underlying concept is the same: moral and/or functional atrophy. And you can't get much more morally atrophied than the local degen hordes. Which includes you.
