Hello Games has released a free update to No Man's Sky which introduces multiplayer to the game, a missing feature that caused an earlier backlash from players.
The update also includes 30 hours of story and various fixes and improvements to gameplay, balance, new abilities, and more. Full details at metro.co.uk or watch the release video on YouTube.

Everybody I know that was hyping it last year before its release all gave up on it within the first month or so, and even after the patches none of them felt motivated to go back.
Has anyone changed their opinion and decided to go back as a result of the base building patch, or this one?

My interest is so low for the game that when I had the chance to buy the PS4 version used at a pawn shop for 15 bucks... I just passed on it. Apparently they'll need to have a flash sale at the 10 dollar mark or lower before I'll be convinced to give this polished turd a try. (Yeah I'm not too forgiving when devs toss a game out the door in mid-to-early-dev cycle (Based on the promises and hype generated by the developer himself.) and charge AAA price tags for it.
I get that they needed cash. But they should have just went Early Access at a discounted price tag for the last year or so. It would have saved them virtually ALL of the negative backlash they received for broken promises.

That $15 bucks would have bought you enough taco bell to create your own 30 hour adventure consisting of not shitting yourself and finding a toilet.
