Daniel Kammen, a renewable energy expert appointed last year as a science envoy to the State Department, resigned Wednesday, citing President Trump's response to the violence in Charlottesville as the final straw that led to his departure.
Kind of makes you wonder, you know, what kind of President could provoke a science envoy to the State department to resign. But not far to look! As Kammen goes on:
In a resignation letter posted to Twitter, Kammen wrote that Trump's remarks about the racial violence in Virginia had attacked "core values of the United States" and that it would have "domestic and international ramifications."
Even American scientists have ethics, and will not serve violent racist regimes, like Nazi Germany. So there is that.

Summary is wrong then. Economists are not scientists. Their "theories" are not falsifiable through evidence. Economics wraps itself in some math and its own jargon dialect, making it sound scientific. It's just modern-day chicken sacrifices though. Ask an economist to use their "scientific" tools to predict the economic future sometime. Not only are their theories not falsifiable, they are not actually even useful.

The lefties are re-defining "science". Bush said, "No stem cell research!" Lefties say "No STEM!" Future "scientists" will be researching how facts make people feel, and discarding facts that are down facts, and reinforcing facts that are up facts. No more need for drugs, just read (or listen) to some up-facts!!!!

LOLwat. Every day I wake up and read the news and see the stupid shit men are doing to one another and everyone else and I thank God/Goddess I don't have a Y chromosome. If I were ever going to be a guy I'd want it to be someone who made advances in medicine or clean power or agriculture, not some bitter basement-crawling incel with daddy issues.

That would be incorrect. For example, the well-known supply and demand model not only is falsifiable, but has considerable supporting evidence.
What is different about economics than most other fields is that the stakes are much higher. If billions of dollars rode on whether two variants of butterflies were separate species or not, then you would see an amazing amount of unscientific argument as well as various legal and political shenanigans.
What aspects of the future? Some things are naturally hard, such as predicting timing of recessions (much like predicting earthquakes). Others are less so - like making broad demographic predictions. For example, I'm much more confident in predicting that China will be considered a developed world country by 2050 than in predicting that a global recession will happen in the year 2021.
