Daniel Kammen, a renewable energy expert appointed last year as a science envoy to the State Department, resigned Wednesday, citing President Trump's response to the violence in Charlottesville as the final straw that led to his departure.

Kind of makes you wonder, you know, what kind of President could provoke a science envoy to the State department to resign. But not far to look! As Kammen goes on:

In a resignation letter posted to Twitter, Kammen wrote that Trump's remarks about the racial violence in Virginia had attacked "core values of the United States" and that it would have "domestic and international ramifications."

Even American scientists have ethics, and will not serve violent racist regimes, like Nazi Germany. So there is that.

But the most interesting thing, is the encryption:

However, his most biting message may have come in the form of a hidden acrostic: The first letter of each paragraph spelled out I-M-P-E-A-C-H.

Anyway, I've never understood the criticism of Trump's remarks about Charlottesville.

Oh, almost everyone of us understand it. [twitter.com] Trump condemned both sides as you should do when in a position of authority and disciplining children (or adults behaving like children). The result is a childish temper tantrum by people upset that they cannot cynically exploit a tragic death to spin a false narrative with which to smear Trump. I don't particularly like Trump but for each hysterical attempt at smearing him through the media, I dislike him less.

You seriously consider Trump to be the adult in the room? You just disqualified yourself from sane adult conversation.

You seriously consider Trump to be the adult in the room?

You are not the first person to have used that exact phrase.

You just disqualified yourself from sane adult conversation.

Even a stopped clock tells the correct time twice a day. Adults are humans with the intellectual and emotional maturity to agree or disagree with one another on a range of issues without spitting their dummy out. If you can condemn James Fields whilst ignoring 18 months of political violence from the alt-left, you are a moral hypocrite.

Last time someone trotted out this "fact" some other patient person compiled a list of all the violence from conservatives and it tallied way higher. Yes, this political nightmare has caused an uptick in violence from every political spectrum, but you can't ignore that violence from Trumpettes is significantly higher.

Both "sides" are not equal, the alt-right is way more violent.

I've never seen any such list.

I must have missed Obama being pressured to condemn and disavow BLM violence and most of the documented violence is coming from the alt-left. This did not start with Trump and it's not a game to see which side is more violent. Sane people condemn it no matter which 'side' it emanates from.
