The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, as the Norwegian Nobel Committee warned that the risk of a nuclear conflict is greater than for a long time.

ICAN describes itself as a coalition of grassroots non-government groups in more than 100 nations. It began in Australia and was officially launched in Vienna in 2007.

Given the current tensions due to North Korea, this prize seems somehow apt. What do you think?

Yes it was created by the inventor of TNT!
That said - it's called the Peace prize. Not the Effectiveness prize.
When one of our Titan II's blow up and wipe out a 50 mile radius, you might have an argument for this in the US.

Of course, until then, its full steam ahead for the Titanic!

Seriously, hundreds of military nuclear accidents! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_nuclear_accidents [wikipedia.org]
The balance of terror remains a great risk to all.

Ehm, you are claiming that Julius Wilbrand created the Nobel Price?

(What Alfred Nobel did was figure out what stabilisers worked well with nitroglycerine (which is not TNT))
