NPR Reports: One of the founding members of AC/DC, among the best-selling bands in recorded music history, died Saturday. Guitarist and songwriter Malcolm Young was 64 years old. Young's family, which announced his death in a statement, noted that he had suffered from dementia for several years. The place of his death was not shared, though the statement mentioned that he "passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside."

Says a lot when there's a Highway to Hell, but just a Stairway to Heaven. Wish I knew who said that first cuz it sure wasn't me (feeling guilt for getting credit for "keep your booger hook off the bang switch" from a thread on another site, I didn't come up with it and don't remember who did).

It seems that the original sentiment comes from the Gospels: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." -- Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV). Sounds pretty much like the original reference to the Highway to Hell, though the way to heaven is described as a narrow gate there instead. The stairway to heaven is from the Old Testament though (Jacob's ladder in Genesis 28).

Following the Bible's criteria, the traffic to Heaven only needs a single-track dirt path, while the 1000-lane highway to Hell is a permanent traffic jam.

Highway To Hell or Stairway To Heaven? Well it's a long way to the top...
