As reported by The Huffington Post:

New rules implemented on Twitter Monday have led to the suspensions of accounts belonging to prominent neo-Nazis, white nationalists and other far-right extremists.

[...] "You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people," states Twitter's rule for "violent extremist groups," which went into effect Monday.

"This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or promoting terrorism," the rule continues. "You also may not affiliate with organizations that – whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform – use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes."

[...] The "alt-right ― a loose association of neo-Nazis, white nationalists, assorted racists, fascists, and other far-right elements that has used Twitter for years to organize and recruit ― anticipated today's "purge," with many preparing to make the jump to Gab, a largely rules-free micro-blogging platform used primarily by white nationalists.

Why do you think that is, exactly?

I think it's because the far right is much more violent than the far left.

Antifa hasn't shot up any churches or schools lately...

So alt-right is anyone that does anything bad ever, that holds a view anything right of Antifa? How convenient.

Why would that be, unless it is actually the case that everything the alt-right does, from supporting Trump, harassing actors and real estate agents on line, running over people with their penis-compensators, holding Naziesque torch-light rallies, and being generally anti-American, is in fact, bad? And the Antifa? Jew-Bears, if you ever have seen the movie, "Inglorious Bastards". Great to see what happens to a bully type white supremacist when they are threatened with violence IN RETURN: Cowards! Lily-livered panty-waists! Like this guy [youtube.com]. All fun and games until someone offers to actually punch you in the face. Cowards.

None of those behaviors are exclusive to the alt-right. The alt-left does too, though not very much in the United States because the country has been purging true leftists at every level since the turn of the century. There are now almost none left here. You can easily think of alt-left people who have done those horrible things in other countries where leftist thought has been more successful and capturing power. The Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution are a fine example, as are the Khmer Rouge and their Killing Fields.

The very mild leftist activity in the United States has been in the form of spiking timber in order to injure or kill loggers taking trees from old growth forest, and that sort of thing. So it's not quite saying "both sides do it," so much as "both sides would do it if they could." If the leftists had greater numbers or support in America, they probably would take bolder, harsher actions, because escalation is the what fuels the fire in politically extreme movements.
