As reported by The Huffington Post:

New rules implemented on Twitter Monday have led to the suspensions of accounts belonging to prominent neo-Nazis, white nationalists and other far-right extremists.

[...] "You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people," states Twitter's rule for "violent extremist groups," which went into effect Monday.

"This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or promoting terrorism," the rule continues. "You also may not affiliate with organizations that – whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform – use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes."

[...] The "alt-right ― a loose association of neo-Nazis, white nationalists, assorted racists, fascists, and other far-right elements that has used Twitter for years to organize and recruit ― anticipated today's "purge," with many preparing to make the jump to Gab, a largely rules-free micro-blogging platform used primarily by white nationalists.

Thanks for confirming what anyone with three sparking neurons already knew about you. You will meet your "father of lies" in person and sooner than you think.

If there's a silver lining to all this cloud it's that jmorris and his conferderates now feel comfortable enough to come out of hiding. It makes everything so much easier when everyone stops dissembling and speaks honestly about who they are and what they want. Instead of remaining a lurking menace that the rest of us can fret about and allow others to use as a tool to control us, we can speak to them directly and hear what they have to say, and respond. Nothing positive comes from the former, but progress can come from discourse with people whose beliefs are anathema to ours.

For example, upthread jmorris said people are over-using "nazi" to the point of meaninglessness, and that is true and correct. In acknowledging that is true and correct, we can all use language and choose our words more carefully and with more precision so that we do not dilute their power with bombast. Part of the soup we're in is a direct product of our collective failure to do that, such that Trump can lie without consequence, and the media can lie without consequence, too.

I would call that a positive contribution, and jmorris is responsible for bringing it to the table.

So what DO we call people who salute der Fuhrer, hang around Stormfront and Gab, etc? "Ironic Nazis" as he puts it? I mean, it if goose-steps like a duck, sieg heils like a duck, and hangs out with white supremacists like a duck...

Oh no, jmorris is an actual Nazi. He venerates Hitler and espouses his philosophy. It is correct to call him that, not just that he says mean things.
