The New York Times reports "Trump Ordered Mueller Fired, but Backed Off When White House Counsel Threatened to Quit":

President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.

    Recall why he was hired:
    http://thefederalist.com/2018/01/26/5-things-learned-russia-investigation-week/ [thefederalist.com]

To recap, roughly in the order we discovered this and opposite to the order of events:

There was a Russia-related investigation into the campaign.

It turns out that this involves a FISA warrant, normally used for dealing with foreign spies.

This was obtained based on some sketchy document, the "dossier".

The FBI got that by way of a UK spy and a Russian lawyer.

It turns out to have been provided by Americans at a Washington DC PR firm called Fusion GPS.

Fusion GPS got paid by a law firm called Perkins Coie, which in turn got paid by the Clinton campaign and the DNC. We call this money laundering. It is also a violation of campaign disclosure laws. Since foreigners of two different nations were involved, the DNC and Clinton campaign also violated laws banning foreign contributions to campaigns.

It turns out that the Russian lawyer was denied a visa, but then the Obama administration made a special exception just for her. She meets with democrats, meets with Trump Jr., then again meets with democrats. This is a setup. Somebody is clearly trying to fabricate a connection between Trump and Russia.

Now, remember that the FISA warrant was based off of the "dossier" and the Russian lawyer. Both of those were provided by democrats. Obama and Clinton desire a FISA warrant so that they can spy on the republicans, but they can't justify it, so they create false evidence. Woah. Read that one again!

By this standard, Nixon did nothing wrong.

So now, about Mueller... why? The entire justification for pestering Trump is a series of felonies committed by democrats. People need to be going to prison for this. Rule of law requires it. If there is any "rule of law" problem with Trump, it is his failure to get Clinton and Obama into a prison. Famous rich and powerful democrats should not be immune to prosecution for their misdeeds.

Instead of misdirection and/or ad hominem attacks, AC, would you perhaps care to refute any of the above?

I've been following this, and as far as I can tell the OP has a concise and accurate summary of these events. Which are deeply disturbing and a string of serious felonies going right to the top of the Obama/Clinton camp(s).

They are so serious in fact, that if they were false, I think those involved would have provided substantial counter evidence already instead of clamming and lawyering up. Instead, there has been no substantive counter evidence whatsoever.

No matter which color of the same establishment you think you're affiliated with, this should concern you.

Since FISA warrants are secret, how the hell do you know what it was based on? The rumor that it was based on the "dossier" is no more credible than that it was based on the drunken ravings of George Papadopoulos. The author of the "dossier" was a source of previous credible information and as such deserved attention from the FBI. Your demented delusions have no credibility. I'll wait for Mueller's results.

Trump is going to curbstomp those sniveling crooked pukes. Voters will be voting Republican for decades to come!

What I would do if I were Trump would be to gut the H1-B program. Perfect revenge against organizations like Jewgle and Amazon who colluded to try to get Hillary elected and are still meddling in politics in which they don't belong and with the added bonus of getting more Americans jobs.

Notice that all these Jews such as Eric Schmidt and David Zucker are stepping down from their posts all at once and for some odd reason. Looks like the network of the Weinstein/Mossad crime and spying ring is going to tumble down.

Let me tell you, I went to Kenosha, Wisconsin. Crooked Hillary held a rally in Kenosha in 2008. But in 2016, she forgot Kenosha. She sent Chelsea -- who isn't bad looking at all -- to Eau Claire and Oshkosh. She sent Corrupt Kaine to Milwaukee, Green Bay and La Crosse. She sent Crazy Bernie -- who won the Wisconsin primary -- to Milwaukee. But she forgot Kenosha. And she lost very badly.

And the great thing they have in Kenosha, they have the Snap-on Tools factory. I went to the factory. Do you use Snap-on tools? Fabulous tools, you can do everything with them. Beautiful tools, the craftsmanship is incredible.

Our factories today are full of computer & robot, it's the age of computer & robot. You know computer, you know robot, there's jobs doing that. If you don't know it, there's not many jobs for you. But our companies are bringing in so many foreign workers, they call it the H-1B visa, I call it the THEFT of American prosperity. I think it should include only the most skilled and highest-paid applicants and should NEVER, EVER be used to replace American workers. I love the workers. We’re doing a good job for the workers. So I signed an executive order, right there in the Snap-on Tools factory in Kenosha. I call it the BUY AMERICAN AND HIRE AMERICAN order. It will protect workers and students like you. It declares that the policy of our government is to aggressively promote and use American-made goods and to ensure that American labor is hired to do the job.

It's a tremendous executive order. Executive Order 13788. It does a lot. It tells our government agencies to ENFORCE the law about foreign workers, to ASSESS how it's being enforced, and to REPORT that to me. And it tells our government agencies to check before they buy cheap foreign goods. To ask, why are they so cheap? A lot of times, it's because of DUMPING. They need to ask, is this very cheap foreign stuff made from dumped steel? We need to protect our American steel companies. We could block the imports, we don't want to do it at this moment. So this is how we're addressing the steel dumping. It's a very unfair situation.

Together, we’re going to do everything in our power to make sure that more products are stamped with those wonderful words: "Made in the USA."  In the old days, we used to use it. We don’t use it so much anymore. We’re going to start using it again -- Made in the USA.

For too long we’ve watched as our factories have been closed and our jobs have been sent to faraway lands. We’ve lost 70,000 factories since China joined the World Trade Organization. And you’ve seen that and you’ve heard about it -- 70,000. The World Trade Organization -- another one of our disasters. But this election, the American people voted to end the theft of American prosperity. They voted to bring back their jobs -- and to bring back their dreams into our country.

I was thrilled to be back in Wisconsin. With my good friend, Governor Scott Walker, he's been such a big help. As well as Senator Ron Johnson. We worked hard together. There was so much optimism in that room! The same incredible spirit that is sweeping across the country, and it's even greater than that great day when I won the state of Wisconsin and won the presidency. We’re doing a good job for the workers.

The entire justification for pestering Trump is a series of felonies committed by democrats.

Why does Jeff Sessions have to recuse himself every time something about Russia comes up? Because of Russian ties.
Why did Michael Flynn resign from National Security Advisor? Because of Russian ties (and he lied about them).

If the Clintons did something with the Russians then let's deal with them too. But blaming democrats for unrelated crap the republicans have done is trying to distract us. Investigate everyone involved, no matter which party.

In order to get enough votes for confirmation, Jeff Sessions agreed to recuse himself.

Nobody in the Trump administration has done anything bad involving Russians. The closest was a campaign manager doing a bit of lobbying for them, but that was prior to being hired by Trump. It was in fact when he was working for democrats!

Oh, and I only described one of the two big Russia-related scandals. The other is Uranium One, which is another Clinton/Obama scandal. Yep, that is two Russia-related scandals for them and none for Trump. I guess, if you are misbehaving with Russians it makes sense to claim that your opponent is doing so.

You're just saying words that you think sound bad without any understanding of what they actually mean. Money laundering? A violation of campaign disclosure laws because the Clinton campaign didn't disclose a foreign contribution that was somehow made to them by them paying a law firm to launder money?

And are you claiming that the judges (all appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts) are simple enough to be fooled into granting FISA warrants on the basis of just the dossier?
