A new study showed a link between strong right-wing views and fear of disease and increased concern about hygiene.

The study showed that people who are more offended by bad odors are more likely to support authoritarian leaders, such as Donald Trump.

In the past, disgust at bad odors was important for survival. The scientists suggested that the disgust at unfamiliar odors may be linked to a desire to keep apart from "culturally unfamiliar" groups.

[...] In the new study, 160 people were rated on their aversion to bodily odours on a scale to one five and their responses compared to their political views. It found that each point higher on the disgust scale was associated with feeling 7.5 points more positive towards authoritarian leaders.

[...] It showed that people who were more disgusted by smells were also more likely to vote for Donald Trump than those who were less sensitive.

No, you didn't. You are just a troll. Nothing more, nothing less.

Either you are being paid, or you are stupid.

Don't be to quick to assume that GP was lying. I am fairly conservative and I voted for Obama twice, although I regretted it greatly during his second term. I did NOT vote for Trump (I voted for the Libertarian pothead, Gary Johnson) but I would have voted for Trump over Hillary in a New York minute if those were my only two choices. And if it comes down between Trump and either Hillary or Oprah and if it looks even remotely close, I will vote for Trump and encourage everyone I meet to do so as well. The loony left are already applying chapstick to get ready to bow down and kiss some Hillary and Oprah asses in 2020.

If you only had a choice between Trump and Bernie, which would you pick, out of curiosity?

I still personally feel that the Dems would have won if they had given the nomination to Bernie somehow. Hillary was so repulsive to so many people that they either stayed home, voted 3rd-party (look how many more votes Johnson and Stein got than those parties got in 2012), or voted Trump out of spite.

I was a Bernie fan (or "Bernie Bro" as the condescending asshole Hillary supporters called me), but if Oprah gets the nomination in 2020, I'm voting for Trump too. There's no f'in way I'm voting for that snake oil and scam peddler and anti-vax promoter. So far, Oprah has been saying that she has zero interest in running for President in response to the rumors, but that's no guarantee.

      Original "chapstick" poster here.

It's funny... Although I am registered as a Republican, I considered changing it just for the opportunity to vote for Bernie. But alas, Hillary's minions in the DNC had already rigged it fairly completely before our primary was scheduled. My vote would have been pointless.

I watched Bernie (and others) on all the Sunday shows and he was the ONLY one who answered the damn questions he was asked. Every one of them would go off and answer something completely orthogonal to the question except for him. Hillary was such a lying piece of shit and she behaved as though she was owed the Presidency, I just couldn't stand her. Then when she and her supporters starting talking shit about us deplorables in flyover country AND Bernie's supporters on the opposite side too, I figured she wouldn't win. Thank God I was right.
