How can we understand the process by which an attack type popularized in the West Bank became the tactic of choice for a white supremacist in the United States? The best way to do so—and to predict the spread of new tactics—may come from an unconventional source: epidemiology, the science of the spread of disease.

[...] Just as in epidemiology, where an outbreak in one area triggers concern in neighboring regions, so too should an outbreak in one operational area serve as a warning to other, geographically related areas. Thus, at this point the outbreak in Israel should have indicated the likelihood that the tactic would spread, at least elsewhere in the region. Here an understanding of vectors is key. A fairly broad definition of a vector is that it is a carrier that transmits a given infectious agent between organisms.

[...] Employing an epidemiological perspective will give security forces and operational planners more time to prepare for the arrival of the tactic and may ultimately save lives. Understanding when the prevalence of a tactic has reached outbreak levels can provide a warning to other operational environments. Monitoring vectors can provide warning of how and where a tactic may spread and whether it is likely that the tactic will reach pandemic or hyperendemic proportions. Even if epidemiological language is not employed, there is still value in an epidemiological approach to describing the prevalence and media coverage of tactics in operating environments.

You do know the first cut of ANY story in the media is fake news, right?

I'm wondering, jmorris, do you also have any pet theories about the innocence of the Atomwaffen Division nazi Trumpers who have now been charged in five murders? I'm curious to hear how Antifa pushed these very fine people on the alt-right to commit murder.

I'm with Andrew Anglin of DailyStormer on that one. The question that needs asking in their case is who is protecting them from the usual rounding up of suspects. Almost like the FBI giving the Parkland shooter enough space to work up the courage to actually start shooting, somebody is giving those guys enough breathing room to let em commit an atrocity that can be used as an excuse for a mass purge. And they ain't even Alt-Right, Neo-Nazi or Nazi or any recognizable political ideology. Satanism seems a big component of their beliefs, to the extent they have anything coherent enough for anyone outside to piece together. When you have the Dailystormer saying the Feds outta be doing something about some guys, the Feds really outta be doing something about those guys. Know what I'm saying?

The protesters in Charlotteville were a mix of Alt-Right and some less savory neo-Nazi types (although the only Nazi flag I have seen on any of the video still had crisp creases in it from being freshly taken out of the the package and the guy is one of the few there who hasn't been doxxed and ruined... hmm) but they were peaceful and lawful. People got a right to be wrong as long as they are peaceful about it. They bought a permit to hold a rally. Antifa showed up without permission, the police executed what was a carefully prepared plan to break every known precept of safe crowd control and drive the annoying but peaceful protesters directly into the waiting arms of Antifa. The official after action report condemned the police for that action so that is not opinion. So defending their right to assemble and petition their government is a requirement for any American. Defending Atomwaffen is not required so I won't.

Well try reading it sometime. Zany? Oh hell yea. Outrageous? Intentionally so. Trollishly so. Worth a few minutes to see what that edge of the political spectrum is up to? Yup. Dailystormer is not Stormfront. Stormfront wants to really be Nazis and is a bunch of useless retards. Dailystormer seems to understand what a dead end that is outside rustling people's jimmies online with the imagery. We might agree the humor is juvenile but so would Anglin with an evil grin because that is his target demo. And banning his domain name made it "forbidden fruit" so keeping up with the frequent name changes is now part of the game for kids born online. Whether a force for good or ill ultimately, a force they will likely be eventually; so they bear watching.

And like I said, if a site like that is ringing the bell on a group for being dangerous and likely to do something unwise and downright uncivilized, it makes you wonder why we pay the FBI when they actually do kill people and yet still walk around. Exactly like the Parkland shooter. A lot of people saw something and just like the PSAs tell us, they said something. Then the FBI and local law enforcement did nothing.

If somebody on here started ranting about wanting to be a professional school shooter somebody else here would report it. And whether the buzzard liked it or not, odds are the Feds would show up with a warrant to get info on that poster. And for 99% of us, that poster would get a visit by a "man in black" dispatched from the local field office. But apparently not 100%, there are apparently SOME people who the feds silently pass over for reasons not adequately explained to date. We need some Congressional hearings to get to the bottom of this new trend of selective enforcement. And after we get to the bottom of it, heads need to roll. No retirement on full pension, terminated for cause and unfit for future service.

Don't be so impatient, jmorris! Your warrant will come up soon. The Feds are just very busy with right-wing terrorists at the moment, so there is a rather long waiting period. But they will get to you, for all the threats of violence you have made on SN. Not to mention the Special SJW Elite Attack Squad, which has your number but has gone suspiciously dark of late. Must be getting close. Well, pleasant dreams, jmorris!

Why don't you sum it up for us and actually present some evidence for a change.

Seems like posting all those pictures you claim exists would be a bit more convincing.

Damn, all those people run over by cars as per

an attack type popularized in the West Bank became the tactic of choice for a white supremacist in the United States

Oh I see its all mere propaganda.

The thing about the Atomwaffen Division is its exactly the same as DnD in the 80s or violent video games today. If, for the sake of argument, given a statistical pool, if a huge fraction of the pool is (DnD players, Alt right, whatever) while at the same time a microscopic fraction is nuts as a microscopic fraction of the population has always been nuts since time immemorial, them by definition especially if you cherry pick examples, you'll find plenty of examples of people in the set of intersection of (giant popular group) and (ridiculously small fraction of crazies).

For example one pyromaniac was in the Division, at least per the Wikipedia article. Likewise I have an extremely strong suspicion that you can cherry pick and glorify a similar coincidental relationship between drinking tap water and being a pyromaniac. I mean, you're not seriously claiming the pyro never drank plain old tap water, seriously?

At least for Generation Z(yklon) being in the alt right isn't any more unusual or dangerous than playing DnD in the 80s or playing video games in the 90s till now. I would be shocked if you could NOT find someone in such an immense and popular movement for any and all crimes. Surely someone on the alt-right has spat on the sidewalk, surely someone on the alt-right has cheated while playing blackjack, surely someone on the alt right has not colored crayons within the lines, none of that is really surprising in any way.
