Talks and Plenary Sessions from both AsiaBSDCon 2016 and AsiaBSDCon 2017 are now available online via YouTube, while supplies last. Both events were hosted at the Tokyo University of Science, in Tokyo, Japan. The former took place March 10-13, 2016, and the latter March 9-12, 2017.

Just last weekend, AsiaBSDCon 2018 just took place on March 8-11 at the same excellent venue. Rumor is that the videos are already being worked on and that the delay will be much shorter. It's not too early to start planning ahead for AsiaBSDCon 2019. Or, wait, maybe it is.

The two links in the start of the summary go to the respective conference programs which has the abstract and other info hyperlinked from the titles.

Perhaps your eyes were drawn to the bullet list. The links in the bullet list go straight to the videos which would be almost enough for those familiar with the BSDs.

Which still doesn't tell me why I should be interested. Seriously, the posted story (here at Soylent) needs to have some kind of sizzle, some sentence that says "You should be interested in this because..."

I'm not trying to be pedantic; there are probably many good reasons why everyone should be interested in two year old conference talks about BSD, but I surely don't know what they would be.

I'm speaking as someone who positively devours most of the Chaos Communication Congress [media.ccc.de] YouTube videos each January as soon as they're posted.

Ok. Point taken. Probably most article summaries need a sentence about why the topic is of interest. I'll try to keep that in mind. Though such an interpretation adds quite a bit to the time and effort needed to make a summary and greatly increases the risk of getting something wrong. Wrong is worse than omission IMHO.

As I proposed the links, it was self-evident for me and figured that for many technical people it would be too. Since it's often hard to see from the perspective of others it's therefore rather easy to write too much redundant and irrelevant intro material, so I try to err on the side of simplicity. The workflow of the site seems to be arranged for high throughput and not iterative revisions involving multiple people like in normal publishing.
