    Not the same as not being at fault, especially as the car was speeding (a bit), and aren't autonomous vehicles supposed to have a bunch of sensors that don't care about lighting conditions?

    Wait, wasn't a big part of the argument for why autonomous vehicles will be safer that they are using radar and lasers to locate obstacles, and so won't be affected by shadows...

      Better isn't the same thing as perfect. If you're only willing to accept a completely perfect and 100% safe car, you should probably never leave your home.
