Ubisoft is cracking down on "Toxic Players" in the game "Rainbow Six: Siege". I was somewhat surprised to see that they hadn't implemented a mute option to begin with as well.

Players will also soon have the ability to mute either or both of the text and voice chat for other players in their matches, giving more "direct control over communication channels."

I left the world of FPS Multiplayer games nearly 10 years ago, because of the toxic environment. Then again, that may have mostly just been staying away from certain games (Call of Duty) that appealed to the demographic (10 year old kids who can more or less say whatever they feel like) I didn't want to associate with. It's one thing to have the occasional being "cursed at" by a teenager / adult, because something went belly up for them. It's another to have a string of profanity that you've never heard the like being uttered by a 10 year old kid as a standard part of the game.

Apparently their parents don't know where they are / what they're doing, don't believe in parenting, don't think that verbal abuse is a thing, or some various mixture thereof. I'm not generally in favor of censorship, but at some point someone needs to step-in. At one point that was the parents, but that doesn't seem to be happening nearly as much as it used to.

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/04/ubisoft-cracking-down-on-hate-speech-team-killing-in-rainbow-six-siege

The core of the changes centers around players using "racial or homophobic slurs, or hate speech," defined by the game's Code of Conduct as language that's "illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive, or constituting harassment."

TL;DR
Game company banning toxic players. It's about time.

Equality means you do not get to play the victim card. Ever.

    Theoretically, that not true.
If everybody plays the victim card, the state of equality still exists.

Yes, but only in theory. In practice there will always be at least one person who'd rather play the asshole card or the joker.

Gaming used to be the domain of young nerdy men with insecurity complexes, and the games allowed them to be the bullies. This quickly led to ridiculous insults in a bad way, and while that has died down a bit except for some tweens there are still jerkoffs like you who think that unfettered profanity is part of the purpose of gaming. Anyone who doesn't like being verbally abused is called even worse.

It all points to massive insecurities that such adult-children never dealt with, and they project their own weakness on to others so they can continue avoiding their own inner demons. Therapy TMB, therapy. Or just come out of the closet, save yourself some money ;)

        A) I don't play online games. They bore me because the vast majority of people bore me.
        B) What makes you think I'd be in the closet if I were gay? Oh, I know, it must be how I always say only what people want to hear so they'll like me.

People who are the victim of something get to play the victim card. Those who aren't, don't. That's equality.

Sorry, not sorry. You do not get to claim victimhood when you were on equal footing. Not ever. Victimhood requires that the victim be in a position of lesser power in the conflict. Crying when you could have fought back but didn't is just called being a pussy.

Your grasp on reality is apparently at the 5th grade level. Maybe you just never underwent puberty? Would explain much.

Lets try a simple car analogy. Someone driving in the lane next to you swerves and pushes your car into oncoming traffic. Are you the victim or a pussy?

Don't bother responding unless you see the error of your ways. If you want to argue that it is a bad analogy lets switch back to humans in game chat.

You are a grown man and you cuss out a 10 year old kid who calls you a noob for being old and slow. You use your many years of experience to cut the kid down. Is the kid a victim of your more experience knowledge of insults and ways to hurt someone? Or is the kid a pussy who just couldn't fight back?

You do you dudebro. Outside of correcting your fallacies your actions do not affect me in any way beyond the minute pollution of our societal hive mind, and even then overall you're ideas aren't that troublesome.
