From heavy.com:

Art Bell, the radio host, is dead. How did he die? The cause of death is not yet known.

From The Washington Post:

Long before fake news became a political topic, Mr. Bell made a good living encouraging Americans to accept the most fantastic and unlikely tales, to believe that we are not alone, to accept that in a world where the pace of life seemed to quicken with every passing year, there were forces from beyond that were trying to tell us something.

A friend gave me a cassette tape with most of Ingo Swann's interview with Art Bell. The interview was probably around 1998, when Penetration: The Question of Human and Extra-Terrestrial Telepathy was originally (self-)published; I got the cassette in 2001 or so.

In 2004 I was clicking around Mr. Swann's website, was annoyed that the book was out of print, and ordered everything else he had for sale... In the process of completing that order I noticed that Ingo was going to be speaking in Las Vegas in 2 or 3 weeks. At the book signing after his talk, I told him why I thought he'd let his self-published book go out of print. He responded... "I suppose..." (me: doh!). Then I said that it was $120 on amazon. He said, "really? Don't pay that, you'll find a copy."

As the years went by, the price of secondhand copies got up to $1000... (They've republished it since he passed - 1st editions are probably reasonably priced now.)

I quoted Ingo to a passenger once. She'd interrupted my safety talk to say something about a 'psychic' having told her something-or-other. I hrmph'd [urbandictionary.com], and responded with "The Super-Psychic Ingo Swann said that we all have the ability to see the future, so that we can change it.." She didn't know anything about Ingo Swann, but that little quip sealed my crucifixion.

I eventually found a copy of Penetration at the 2016 VNSA booksale [vnsabooksale.org]'s rare & unusual section ($17). Someone had categorized it as an 'Adult' book. I wonder if this was as Mr. Swann had foreseen.

In 2004 Ingo said he didn't prepare speeches anymore, and just answered questions, but something must've motivated him to put a talk together for 2006... Ingo's 2006 las vegas speech is on Youtube, I think.
