From heavy.com:

Art Bell, the radio host, is dead. How did he die? The cause of death is not yet known.

From The Washington Post:

Long before fake news became a political topic, Mr. Bell made a good living encouraging Americans to accept the most fantastic and unlikely tales, to believe that we are not alone, to accept that in a world where the pace of life seemed to quicken with every passing year, there were forces from beyond that were trying to tell us something.

I learned to sleep with headphones on, listening to Art Bell (so as not to disturb the wife). I'd fall asleep right away but the stories on Coast2Coast would filter into my dreams, as would his bumper music. I remember one morning, many years ago, with vivid memories of a dream of a bottomless hole in my back yard, and strange screams coming up from the hole. I later figured out that it was my subconscious mixing two different Art Bell stories.

When Bell retired, I no longer enjoyed sleeping to Coast2Coast. His successor didn't have those wonderful pipes and ability to tell stories and interview. So now I find paranormal and esoteric podcasts about high strangeness. There are a few out there that strike the right tone for me. I like Radio Misterioso and Where Did The Road Go?. Sometimes The Higherside Chats is good, but too often their host gets used by alt-right conspiracy jackoffs like pizzagate and qanon. Then, he wastes a few shows on those topics before figuring out that they're bullshit. Unfortunately, a lot of the podcasters believe their personal lives and banter are interesting, and that spoils a lot of such podcasts, like Mysterious Universe and Grimerica. I wish they'd just get to the spooky shit and knock off the chit chat. Not many people can be as arresting just telling some mundane story the way Art Bell was.

If any of you know of any high strangeness podcasts that you can recommend, I'd love you to list a few.

    RIP, Art Bell.

you should check out the Paranormies podcast - yeah I suppose it falls under the "alt-right conspiracy jackoffs" category to some extent, but worth a listen. They recently did a multi part bit on the Hollow Earth theory, and the episode they did on the Titanic actually being the Olympic was awesome...

I just did a quick scan and I see they're Holocaust "skeptics". No thanks. If I want to hear that stuff, I'll go straight to Red Ice Radio, Stormfront or Fox News.
