Because, disturbingly, there is an actual product called Soylent, and this is news about it.

From The Verge:

Rosa Foods, announced Wednesday it has signed a deal to get Soylent in 450 of the big box stores across the US. Soylent CEO Bryan Crowley says the move is, "a significant step in providing more ways for consumers to get access to our brand." Walmart locations will stock the ready-to-drink bottles in "Cacao," "Vanilla Latte," and "Coffiest" flavors.

By the way, Soylent was only "people" in the movie. In the original book, "Make Room, Make Room" by Harry Harrison, Soylent was just vegetable matter. Leave it to Hollywood to screw a good SF story up. [ed.]

Speak for yourselves. I arrive at Wal-Mart at least a couple times a week.

    1) You're a bastard then. Nobody should support that terrible company.

    ... on a lighter note ...

    2) We need to visit the PeopleOfWalmart.com and have fun finding out which one you are :)

      1) You realize you just advocated putting millions of people who are barely scraping by to begin with out of work entirely, yes?
      2) Go for it. Check the one in Humboldt, TN. If you can find one doing the Thriller zombie dance through the groceries because it was playing over the speakers, that'll be me.

I'm not sure how to distinguish that person from the other people folks in the store. From what I've seen, one person's "Thriller" is another person's "Just-had-my-hips-replaced" and yet another's "Man-this-meth-is-amazing".

We did the biggest Tax Cut in history. To create millions of jobs. But Walmart closed so many stores. They didn't call them Walmart, they called them Sam's Club. But it's Walmart. It's the elite Walmart. Let me tell you, that was a slap to my face. And to the faces of our hard-working Republicans in Congress. They closed 63 stores around our great Country. And in Puerto Rico.

Walmart pays little or no taxes to state & local governments. And they're putting many thousands of retailers out of business.

And now they're selling latte, the vanilla Soylent latte. The official food of the Democratic Party. It's not the official food. But it should be. Crooked Hillary was on their board (with John Tate, who said unions are nothing but blood-sucking parasites). I'm sure she's laughing right now. Like she laughed when her radical Islamic friends stabbed Colonel Gaddafi in the ass & he died. That VERY SCARY laugh of hers. And the coastal elites and global special interests are laughing with her. At the "carnage." Sad!

I'd like to remind you that not everyone has the luxury to pay more so they won't be supporting such a "terrible company".

Not that a reminder will change your attitude, since you clearly have already judged those that shop at Walmart as inferior to yourself. Does ridiculing them really make you feel better about yourself?

For too long, Walmart has been bringing terribly made foreign merchandise to our Country by the shipload. From Bush Original to present, our Country has lost more than 55,000 factories, 6,000,000 manufacturing jobs and accumulated Trade Deficits of more than 12 Trillion Dollars. Last year we had a Trade Deficit of almost 800 Billion Dollars. Bad Policies & Leadership. Sorry, it’s time for a change! We must protect our country and our workers. When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country (🇨🇳) and they get cute, don’t trade anymore. We win big. It’s easy! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
