    But most people seem to have a sense of derision for anyone that wants privacy. The brainwashing and stupidity is real folks! Even smart techies will say "meh, I just assume everything is public so whatever" and "I don't care if they know I bought a shirt from amazon" or whatever. The "if you have nothing to hide" crowd really did a number on the citizenry, and people just EAT UP the law and order shit. Don't mind the routine human rights abuses or the routine punishment of "undersirables".

    On a brighter note, the tide is shifting as the average citizens become more comfortable with technology and can begin seeing the need for privacy. Fuck the NSA agents who read this, they should realize they are now some of the worst scum on the planet even if .0001% of their intel leads to stopping some "bad stuff". Apparently violating basic decency for EVERYONE is worth the pittance of lives saved that won't ever compare to the lives lost to ridiculously more preventable / stupid reasons.

    Oh yeah, don't forget to thank the TSA agent who gropes you because you just don't trust full-body millimeter wave tech. "It just goes through the first few mm of your skin though!" Oh thanks, skin cancer, that doesn't suck at all.

    i just want money

    selling your info is the best way I can do that if I have no other model or products. i mean really the defaults just give it away and google and microsoft and others have complete guides on how to monetize people.

    all this really reads to me is the guy's costs will go up because privacy isn't free--and i know its true because i am making money by essentially running code on my website that i didnt even write myself. i just cash the checks. i dont even care who the people are

    i mean really. if you dont like it, then its not the websites that will have to change first. you have to get your friends and family to stop handing out their info about you for free.
