"Seoul's Defense Ministry said Monday it will pull back dozens of its frontline loudspeakers on Tuesday.
It says Seoul expects Pyongyang to do the same.
South Korea had turned off its loudspeakers ahead of Friday's summit talks, and North Korea responded by halting its own broadcasts." foxnews.com/world/2018/04/30/latest-s-korea-to-remove-loudspeakers-at-border.html
Seoul had blasted propaganda messages and K-pop songs from border loudspeakers since the North's fourth nuclear test in early 2016. The North quickly matched the South's action with its own border broadcasts.

You know who really deserves a prize? The puppet masters behind the Reagan presidency. Brinksmanship. Space lasers, Rail Guns, Brilliant Pebbles, MAD SDI, man. In your FACE Gorbachev! Can't take the heat in Afghanistan? Too bad, so sad, time to tear down that wall, isn't it?
Sometimes it takes some bombastic shitheadery to knock things back in line, like psycho-chiropracty.

Except really the prize for that should go to Gorbachev. Say whatever you will about Mikhail, but he had the guts to say "We're not playing anymore". The only reason he survived that decision was that his political enemies were magnanimous enough to allow him to live during the coups and counter-coups of the early 1990's.
Also, there are scholars out there who have put forward strong evidence that the end of the Cold War had little to do with Reagan's space lasers and such [foreignaffairs.com].

Perhaps, it should go to American Express for giving Mrs. Gorbachev the card.

I'm sure there were (and still are) plenty of General Rippers [wikipedia.org] on both sides of the NATO/USSR line, and the prize should go to Gorbachev for not losing control of any of his.
As for "strong evidence" about anything as enormously important, far reaching, and full of secrets as the Cold War, I imagine there is "strong evidence" for many many spins on what "really happened."

We could have ended the Cold War so much sooner. In a way that would be much better for the USSR. I had some terrific ideas about that. I invited Mikhail & Raisa to dinner at Trump Tower. And they were going to come. Supposedly, they were going to come. But they flaked. It was a DISASTER for their country, their country fell apart and I never built a Trump hotel in Russia. Too bad!!
