The Pineapple Fund has done what it set out to do and is concluding its activities. Going out in style, he/she/it/they continue to remain more or less anonymous.

In December 2017, the Pineapple Fund was set up by an unknown individual with the intention of giving cryptocurrency donations around the world. It has also been claimed to be among the 250 largest holders of Bitcoin in the world. Known simply as 'Pine', the anonymous person announced via Reddit last year that they were setting up the Pineapple Fund to donate 5,057 BTC, worth about $86 million at the time, to charitable causes.

What if there's no iodine in the soil where the banana trees grow?

Then they were planted off world and should be looked at with suspicion. Seriously you only need 100 - 200 micrograms, there's 1000 micrograms in a milligram. You could probably get a weeks worth by eating, anything grown in any soil anywhere.

A single sheet of seaweed gives 1000x the %DV

That article is pretty balanced, notice that there is a chart showing that for a person 19+ the tolerable upper intake levels are 1100 mcg. Meaning eat a single sheet of seaweed as an adult and you've hit the limit beyond which adverse health effects are likely. A 2 - 5 year old would hit this limit with a couple orders of french fries.

My point is that adding extra iodine to human diets is unlikely to help and more likely to cause harm than good. We need only a very, very narrow range.

Keep your kids away from your One-A-Day Plus Iron!

I flunked a Hematocrit test [warplife.com] so Bloodworks Northwest advised me to get more iron in my diet.

I've found that difficult to accomplish with the one grocery store that's within walking distance.

When I get my Real Soon Now paycheck I'll take the bus to a better grocery store so I can get some dark, leafy greens, mollasses and raisins.

Eat Brassicas like brocolli and cauliflower and cabbage. I had to reduce my intake as my Iron levels where too high.
