At theGrio, Spike Lee blasted Trump for not condemning the Klan and Alt-Right:

Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman was well received at the Cannes Film Festival, and the prolific director did not hold back giving his take on how President Donald Trump has contributed to a hateful, divisive culture.

In the movie, about a black man (John David Washington) who infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan, Lee inserted a moving documentary montage at the end of the film about the conflict in Charlottesville, reports Vulture. The movie included a powerful ending messaging about Heather Heyer, the young woman [who] was killed when a white nationalist ran her over with a car during the protests.

“It’s an ugly, ugly, ugly blemish on the United States of America,” Lee said at the press conference for the film.

The story contains a link to a YouTube video of Spike Lee's comments at Cannes, as well as a transcript of that video.

"Submitted a story which became"? C'mon, Eds, you might as well just erase the aristarchus entirely, as long as you are allowing that cop-killer jmorris to spout his cop-killing stuff, by saying that Black Cops Lives Don't Matter!!!

(Oh, I may be the only solylentil to know that jmorris is from Louisiana, and actually is a descendant of Vietnamese refugees, which explains his far right, anti-communist positions. And his racism.)

I am confused. "Disagree" mod: disagreeing with my complaint to the eds? OK, plausible. Disagree that jmorris supports cop killers, as long as the cop is Black? Sounds racist to me! Blue-Black lives matter! Or, least, or perhaps most likely: disagree that jmorris is Vietnamese? https://nextshark.com/asian-white-supremacist-hank-yoo-arrested-texas-federal-agents/ [nextshark.com] Oh, Korean, sorry. But I am still confused about what the modder is disagreeing with, unless it is just to disagree with the aristarchus. I get that a lot. It does not impress me.

    "Submitted a story which became"?

Carry on a diff with your original submission, you'll notice an evolution (that's a word that means "changes over time") which is conducive without too much friction to the "becoming" semantics.
What about are you complaining again?

    "Submitted a story which became"?

    Yes, you read that correctly.

If I had left the default "Aristarchus submitted the following story:" introduction, you would have complained, and rightfully so, as that is not what you submitted.

As for the story, itself, compare your submission (via the "Original Submission" link which is always provided), to what was posted. Extensive editing was required to restore italics and bold markup, as well as to restore links that were also present in the quoted text.

If you wish to have a story appear on the site, unedited, you are free to post it on your journal [soylentnews.org].

I think at issue might be that "x submitted a story which became" specifically calls out that editing was deemed necessary, which can be seen as a jab at the quality of one's submission. Whereas something like "x brought to our attention" puts emphasis on the contribution made by the user, but still without implying that it is exactly their submission.
