The National Park Service has approved an application for a year anniversary commemoration of Charlottesville's violent white supremacist rally to be held in Washington, DC.
DC's WUSA9 reported that NPS approved the application but has not yet issued permits for the rally set to be held at Lafayette Square, a seven-acre park just north of the White House. The event is to be organized by Jason Kessler, the organizer of the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville where 32-year-old Heather Heyer was hit and killed by an alleged white supremacist.
"This year we have a new purpose," Kessler said, discussing the upcoming rally. "That's to talk about the civil rights abuse that happened in Charlottesville, Virginia last year."
Kessler claimed it wasn't his fault that "that stuff happened," and said that in the months since the rally ostensibly intended to "defend" a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee, "white civil rights" have taken a hit.
"We're not able to peacefully assemble. We're not able to speak," he told WUSA. "I keep telling people if your right to rally and your right to protest means that someone else's life might be in danger, then it is no longer free speech but it is hate speech."

I doubt that the rally will be banned. That would only fan the flames.
Let them hold their rally. If they behave themselves, fine. But we know what those people are like. Civil behavior is not their strong suit. Nor is brains. The more harm they cause, the worse they'll look.
Perhaps they could be shown that they're blaming the wrong people, and that the rich should not be worshipped. Gilded Age 2.0 has gotten pretty bad. There should be appropriate sermons out there, perhaps about the seven deadly sins, especially greed. Bible thumping is language they understand. I've always been struck by how many Biblical references Lincoln stuffed in his speeches. Over and over, he hammered on the point that slavery is evil, suggesting the Civil War could be God's justice upon the nation for having engaged in slavery.
They should hold an Occupy Wall St rally, not a KKK rally.

And yet when we actually read the post in question, we get such insights as "rich should not be worshipped" (who does that again?) and "Bible thumping is language they understand." (Even though a fair portion of the alt-right protestors in question would not be strongly Christian or even agnostic/positive atheist.) In other words, the extravagant condescension of which I spoke.
It's no different than some brutal 19th century slave master speaking of his slaves: "They can only understand the whip." Or some alt-righter advocating the nuking of particular meteorites in Mecca, because that will somehow stop the unstoppable.
Or when a certain someone (that would be you) asks pointless rhetorical questions [soylentnews.org] like "Since when were you capable of understanding the concepts of either guilt or friendship?"

What, you been living under a rock? I wouldn't be surprised... What you're missing is the actual persecution. You can't equate "white oppression" with slavery, it really just rams the point home about how clueless and biased you are.
Was Lincoln the bad guy in your worldview? Should we have kept slavery instead of persecuting those poor slave owners and taking their property??

Yea, look at last time. They buy a permit, assemble a stage and sound system, show up armed to the teeth because why not? VA is open carry so why not add in a 2nd Amendment rally as bonus? They got betrayed by the city and State government, had the rally cancelled at the last moment, drove at gunpoint into the teeth of Antifa and still maintained almost perfect fire discipline while under harsh attack by ghetto flamethrowers, acid, rocks and worse. Several were permanently injured. The only loss of life was a fat Antifa bitch who had a heart attack from the stress. (Look it up, her own mother said that was the cause of death on MSNBC in glorious HD quality.)
Let em rally again and who knows, they might actually get a chance to speak if the police in DC are less corrupt. There is a horrible thought for ya. But don't worry, DC is probably even more corrupt so little chance of that.

After looking it up I see that Heyer was never directly hit by the car as was initially assumed, though I never heard anything about people being attacked with acid or 'ghetto flamethrowers'. Link, maybe?

Heyer died of “blunt force trauma to the torso,” and her death has been ruled a homicide.
A simple google search of "heather heyer death" will provide many sources that confirm the the death was caused by the car.
Sources include Washingtom Post, New York Times, CNN.
The only sites I could find that report her death as due to a heart attack used Stormfront as their source. Where do you get your news?

Imagine jmo finally blowing a circuit reading infowars and gunning down a bunch of innocent people cause some asshole wanted to make him buy snakeoil supplements! Actually not really a big need to imagine, we've already had enough crazies go on shooting sprees.
That said, I am very pro 2nd amendment while also being pro gun control. I'm even pretty pro own-whatever-you-like but make sure it is licensed and proper care is taken. You own a machinegun, make sure that shit is locked up and safe!

There's no such thing. The 2nd was put in place by people who did not want the nation to even have a standing military. They wanted the people to own all the weapons so that their government would always be their servant rather than their master. That kind of necessitates us being allowed to own anything the military is allowed to own.
