from the Taxi-Driver-Über-Uber? dept.

Timothy Anderson, a former taxi driver, was arrested for the murder of a Uber driver in Okaloosa county, Florida. Filip Kirilov was found Sunday morning shot to death. Allegedly, he was a known opponent of Uber, citing declining business in an interview and recruiting other taxi drivers to take legal action against the ride share company. Anderson was identified and linked to the murder with surveillance equipment in the victim's car and Uber records. Police are calling the murder an isolated incident and believe the motive was revenge.

Guess its kinda a universal element of life... getting between any animal ( us included ) and its dinner is a risky endeavour.

I gotta admit Uber and Lyft are eating the traditional taxicab driver's dinner.

getting between any animal ( us included ) and its dinner is a risky endeavour.

Innovations and startups have always been risky.

Automobiles vs the horse and buggy.
    Internet vs Newspapers.
Common Sense vs the Recording and Motion Picture industries.
    Yelp vs shady businesses.
    Amazon vs Brick & Mortar
    SpaceX vs Cost Plus

It seems the risk is worth it.

The animal should realize when a paradigm shift is occurring. But they never do. So they hire insultants to tell them when a major innovative disruption is about to occur. And then when the insultant tells them -- they never believe it!
