Google Maps now zooms out to a globe instead of a flat Earth

Google is finished thinking two-dimensionally with Maps and now shows the Earth as a globe rather than a flat "Mercator" projection as before. You won't notice the change when you first open the app, but if you zoom out far enough, you'll eventually get a moon's-eye view of our world. That means you'll see the world in a more realistic way: "With 3D Globe Mode on Google Maps desktop, Greenland's projection is no longer the size of Africa," Google Maps said on Twitter.

I so want to become a flat earther. It's probably the most epic trolling campaign ever created. It's just too much effort for me to become an expert on the outrageous arguments though and I don't want to do it half-assed.

Well, just invent your own conspiracy theory about the shape of Earth, then you automatically are the one who knows most of it. Maybe Earth actually has the shape of an icosahedron, and the fact is hidden from us because the corners of the icosahedron are points of energy that give great power, and THEY don't want people to learn about them. Of course the best way to do that is to pretend the Earth is a sphere; there are no special points on a sphere. Well, due to the Earth's rotation, there are the poles, but those are at the center of a face, and thus no points of energy. There's no danger that pole-visitors discover the Truth™.

Now some people have noticed that they live on something flat (namely the faces of the icosahedron), and thus THEY invented the Flat Earth theory to keep those people from discovering the Truth™ by just claiming the whole Earth is just a flat disk.

Just make a “convincing” YouTube video, and I'm sure you'll find followers.

Its a dodecahedron, thats been the idea since Plato until suddenly now you go to 20 sides, why? Is it just telephone effect since a dodecahedron has 20 vertices?

Wow, I didn't know that. Clearly the Dodecahedron version wins on the “ancient knowledge” metric!

I chose the Icosahedron because it is arguably the “most round” of the Platonic polyhedra.
