Cave girl was half Neanderthal, half Denisovan
Once upon a time, two early humans of different ancestry met at a cave in Russia. Some 50,000 years later, scientists have confirmed that they had a daughter together. DNA extracted from bone fragments found in the cave show the girl was the offspring of a Neanderthal mother and a Denisovan father.
The discovery, reported in Nature, gives a rare insight into the lives of our closest ancient human relatives. Neanderthals and Denisovans were humans like us, but belonged to different species.
"We knew from previous studies that Neanderthals and Denisovans must have occasionally had children together," says Viviane Slon, researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (MPI-EVA) in Leipzig, Germany. "But I never thought we would be so lucky as to find an actual offspring of the two groups."

Neanderthals were not "backwards", they were egalitarian. This was among the social traits that allowed them to be out competed (breeding and hunting) by Homo Sapiens emigrating from Africa. Sound familiar?

Oh I know, the whole thing is a joke. If anything liberal ideology is more neanderthal and conservatives are modern homo sapiens.
More kids? Check for outbreeding
Less egalitarian? Check for almost every aspect except the professed "WWJD" bullcrap none of them follow
It sure does sound familiar, but not how you think. At least modern homo sapiens have started to realize that egalitarian societies are better all around and thus you backwards conservatives are getting "out competed" ideologically. So sad, much crying.

Interesting how basic principles aren't established here. For example, what societies are actually egalitarian in the first place? Just because someone advertises something as egalitarian (or some other positive label) doesn't make it so.
