BBC:
[...] The O-Wind turbine is a 25cm spherical device which sits on a fixed axis. The geometric structure of its vents means that it spins when wind hits it from any direction.
This wind energy turns the device which triggers a generator, which, in turn, converts the wind energy into electricity.
The next stage of its development will focus on finding ways to build it so it will be cheap enough for anyone to buy.

ROI has been a killer for urban wind solutions.

Yeh... a ten inch "wind turbine", looks to me to be very similar to the kind of thing we've used for years to vent hot air from attics... except they put a little generator in it.
You know, there seems no end to the stuff I see marketing types come up with.
A bunch of those took over a company I used to work for.... hopeless once these guys got in control, and investors seem determined to listen to presentation skills, not laws of physics. They were really good at presentation skills... but it was kinda obvious they stayed out of the physics class.
