The GDPR "right to be forgotten" is now being used to remove court cases from the internet. Seems the "right to be forgotten" is on a collision course with free speech and open government.
The complaint against Bujaldon is fairly damning, and while Bujaldon tried to get the case dismissed, the court was not at all impressed. The current docket suggests that the parties are attempting to work out a settlement, but having yourself be a defendant accused of real estate and securities fraud can't be good for the old reputation.
Never fear, however, for the GDPR has a Right to be Forgotten in it, and Bujaldon is apparently using it to delete his own name from the dockets for which he is a defendant

I agree and I am really beginning to think that the astounding level of interconnectivity we have is perhaps becoming more dangerous than valuable, or at least that as a society we are clearly not mature enough to handle this power. It shouldn't happen that people's lives get ruined over a lame joke ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_shaming#Sacco_incident [wikipedia.org] ) but it is becoming ever more a fact of life that twitter/facebook/whatever, are just neo-lynching platforms.
I get that this is being framed as a free speech issue, but if that's the case, then lynch mobs of early 1900s were also exercising free speech, although it should be obvious that when the ropes come out, "free speech" has morphed into something else entirely.

Interconnectivity -- NO. This is NOT more dangerous than valuable. The intarweb tubes were great before AOL poisoned Usenet, before the web became a household word, before FaceTwit.
Facebook / Twitter / all social media -- YES. This is dangerous and will destroy the fabric of society.
The real problem is people. Or rather, SOME people. Fix the defect. And the defect does not lie in the technology which makes many people's lives much better. But then, some people can't control other things like food, alcohol, sex, prescription drugs, etc.
The lower I set my standards the more accomplishments I have.
