Google Podcasts creator program opens to provide training, funding, & promote inclusivity

With the Android app's launch in June, the Google Podcasts creator program was also teased to promote inclusive storytelling and increase diversity in podcasting. Google is now opening sign-ups for a training program that will feature seed funding to create unique and sustainable shows.

The Google Podcasts creator program aims to address two imbalances as the industry is skyrocketing in popularity: "Women and people of color are still underrepresented as hosts, and many of the world's most popular podcasts hail from western, urban areas." It has three main pillars:

  1. Empowering and training underrepresented voices through an accelerator program
  2. Educating a global community with free tools
  3. Showcasing participants' work as a model for others

The first pillar begins now, with Google partnering with PRX to lead and manage the program, including the 20-weeks of training. Interested partners can submit pitches for unique shows that highlight diverse viewpoints.

Yep. That sounds like a credible plan to fix the problems faced by women, people of color, men, and whites in the working class. Or at least, it sounds like a credible plan to give me a clear conscience while I make sure the politicians are bought and paid for and the working class is fed bullshit propaganda from the MSM.

What's the matter with the working class, anyway? Bunch of lazy deplorables. We just raised chocolate rations to $15/hr...! Besides, this diversity stuff is great! Great distraction! Divide and conquer works every time!

That's what communists actually want though. Bonuses going to those who do their job well is patently unfair by their way of thinking. Only hardworking capitalist pigs are harmed by that type of income redistribution and they're Literally Hitler anyway.

That's not how communism works. Communism works by everybody contributing to a pool of resources and then taking what they need from said resources.

It tends to fail because of selfish bastards like you that take more than you need and generally more than you produced.

You do realize you're speaking to a guy in a venue that he puts untold hours of unpaid labor into so that you may trash talk him for being a selfish prick, yes?

And, yes, it most certainly does work like that. You do not get to decide your need. Daddy state does that for you and most assuredly has a baseline at which everyone starts the same, regardless of the effort they put in.

Most of the liberals I know ARE the selfish pricks they try to project on others.

"You may have worked harder, risked more and sacrificed longer, but I deserve to have some of that too. OMG you gave your kids all the money you earned and saved? They didn't earn or deserve that. Give it me so I can help my kids."

One man I know had the gall to tell my 20-something adult son that "working was for suckers." He's on "disability" for his back, yet he has no issues doing big construction projects around his home by himself (built a porch, built a shed, replacement windows, moved a wall, etc). You can guess that he pulls the "D" lever each November.

It also fails because individuals take what they need, but couldn't lift a finger to help produce. It further fails because the people the State puts in charge of parceling out what people need somehow parcel more to themselves and their cronies, and less to others; they have the further advantage of disappearing anyone who complains.

But for the sake of accuracy, communism has never failed because it has never existed. Socialism failed, every time. It was the transition between capitalism and communism that nobody ever got past, because it was too much fun for those running the redistributive State to redistribute all wealth and power to themselves instead of the old capitalists.
