ZDNet:

At Open Source Summit Europe in Scotland, Linus Torvalds is meeting with Linux's top 40 or so developers at the Maintainers' Summit. This is his first step back in taking over Linux's reins.

A little over a month ago, Torvalds stepped back from running the Linux development community. In a note to the Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML), Torvalds said, "I need to change some of my behavior, and I want to apologize to the people that my personal behavior hurt and possibly drove away from kernel development entirely. I am going to take time off and get some assistance on how to understand people's emotions and respond appropriately."

That time is over. Torvalds is back.

He's a quick study if it only took him a month to learn how to understand people's emotions and respond appropriately.

Kuro5hin's mumble created a text-processing programming language that is based on the Bra and Ket notation of quantum mechanics: <foo| |bar>

One of his early exercises was to prepare histograms of the times of day each of had posted diaries. As you would expect, they all were nice bell curves, with their phase being determined mostly by what time zones we all lived in.

But my own histogram was not a bell curve at all: it was a flat line.

"When does he sleep?" asked mumble.

I really do sleep more than anybody, but when I do so has always been quite irregular. This was first observed by the maternity ward nurses in the hospital where I was born, and was quite a serious problem when I was in grade school.

It is quite likely that my irregular circadian rhythm contributed greatly to the onset of my mental illness, but I've never been able to find any way to make my rhythm regular. While I would rather work at night and sleep during the day, that's not always actually the case for me.

Not long ago I asked a neurologist whether sleep deprivation had damaged my brain. This because it's also common for me to stay awake up to four days at a time. He assured me that it hadn't, which I find puzzling, but he's the one with the medical degree.

Most likely I'll have a rice and onion omelette. This because I've got some cooked rice in the fridge, as well as onions and eggs.

After I eat breakfast I'll go work on Soggy Jobs, in hopes that by doing so I can tear myself away from online discussions.

This happens here at SN from time to time - I'm not the only one this has happened to.

More commonly a post meant for one discussion is actually posted to a different one.
