from the alcoholic-mouthwash dept.

An elderly friend died last year and among other things I inherited a couple of bottles of Creme de Menthe. For anyone unfamiliar, it's bright green and very minty -- 60 proof / 30% alcohol by volume. I'm not a regular drinker, and I am one of those weirdos that believes in waste-not, want-not, so I felt obligated to find a way to (slowly) consume it. My eventual choice was to pour a shot or two over a bowl of chocolate ice cream -- not bad, compare to mint chocolate-chip ice cream, with a little kick.

Any other suggestions?

    Thanks -- you get it!

    I'm the AC submitter with the bottle of Hiram Walker brand green (it's very old, no idea if this is still available).

    One of my tech related submissions is languishing in the queue right now, my hit ratio might be a little better than Ari's, but not much. I threw this out for the hell of it, didn't really expect it would be picked up by the editors--and have been away from the 'net for the last 8 hours so it seems pretty funny to check in and find 50 comments.

    Hiram Walker is a quality bar brand. they suggest this :

    1 part Green Crème de Menthe
    1 part White Crème de Cacao
    1 part Vodka
    Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Chugg ;}
