Ask Soylent - What to Do With a Bottle of Creme de Menthe

An elderly friend died last year and among other things I inherited a couple of bottles of Creme de Menthe. For anyone unfamiliar, it's bright green and very minty -- 60 proof / 30% alcohol by volume. I'm not a regular drinker, and I am one of those weirdos that believes in waste-not, want-not, so I felt obligated to find a way to (slowly) consume it. My eventual choice was to pour a shot or two over a bowl of chocolate ice cream -- not bad, compare to mint chocolate-chip ice cream, with a little kick.

Any other suggestions?

    You got peppermint oil in an alcohol solution... peppermint oil contains a ton of stuff including menthol. Menthol cigarettes are overwhelmingly a black person thing. The FDA is banning menthol vape juice and cigs and getting called 'racist' for doing it. So would you be doing a nice thing by civil disobedience selling your stuff to black folks as a menthol vape juice replacement or to drip on regular cigs for that kool menthol smoke, or a bad thing by encouraging them to smoke, or ... its quite a moral and ethical minefield. Its kind of like how legal abortion has killed 15 million black people in the USA, is that good or bad and how so? Hitler killed fewer Jews than Roe v Wade has killed blacks.

    Semi seriously I can't think of any "fun" chemistry to do with peppermint oil or menthol in specific although I might just be sleepy. Anyone thing of something chemically speaking fun to do with it?

    A better question that FDA vape policy or boring food chemistry lab tricks, is how did elderly person end up with many bottles of that stuff? That is the REAL weird story. A literal life time supply of that stuff is likely a mere six bottle shipping crate. I'm pretty sure I have a half bottle from last century, somewhere. Of course I don't drink much, but still...
