US Judge Slams Copyright Troll For Using His Court "Like an ATM" - TorrentFreak
A judge in the U.S. has issued one of the most scathing opinions ever seen in a copyright troll case. In response to an early discovery request by porn troll Strike 3 Holdings, Judge Royce C. Lamberth describes the plaintiff as a "cut-and-paste" serial litigant whose lawsuits "smack of extortion". The company runs away at the first sign of a defense, he added, while noting his court is being used "as an ATM".
[...] Going on to criticize Strike 3 for filing 1,849 cases in the past thirteen months, including 40 in his district, Judge Lamberth says that such serial litigants prey on low-hanging fruit then run away at the first sign of resistance.
"They don't seem to care about whether defendant actually did the infringing, or about developing the law. If a Billy Goat Gruff moves to confront a copyright troll in court, the troll cuts and runs back under its bridge," he writes.
"Perhaps the trolls fear a court disrupting their rinse-wash-and-repeat approach: file a deluge of complaints, ask the court to compel disclosure of the account holders; settle as many claims as possible; abandon the rest."

Too many people are stealing Porn. And a lot of jobs are being lost in our Porn Industry. Very sad. Because Porn Stars need to get paid. They work very hard. Having "sex." Otherwise known as acting. I always always put the American worker first -- and our Porn Stars are the best in the world. Except possibly for Czechoslovakia. My first wife came from there. She wasn't my best wife. What did I know? I didn't know. But the "sex" was INCREDIBLE. We did the divorce. And I paid her very well. Not too much, but very well. She's a rich lady -- and I'm very very rich. Always always do the pre-nup, guys. Or you're very foolish.
I'll tell you, Judge Lamberth is a VERY FOOLISH PERSON. When you sue somebody, the Judge is so important. So important. A bad Judge can really do a number on your lawsuits, believe me. And President Reagan really did a number on our beautiful Courts. Need to get rid of the horrible Reagan judges! I'm picking the best people. Very high quality people. And working very hard with our amazing @SenateGOP [twitter.com] to get them into those seats. Something that hopefully is going to go MUCH FASTER starting in January. When our magnificent new Senate comes to Washington. So many LOYAL folks coming into our Senate. The ones that took the Embrace did incredibly well. And some of our Republicans, not so loyal. Didn't take the Embrace. And failed very badly.

I'll tell you, the only way to solve the Copyright Theft problem is through toughness. When you catch a Copyright Thief, you got to put him away for a long time.
