It's already one of the coldest and snowiest starts to the winter season in parts of the Northeast, Midwest and Plains, and we haven't finished November yet.
According to the Accumulated Winter Season Severity Index (AWSSI) from the Midwest Regional Climate Center, 74 cities from New England to the Plains and Rockies have seen an extreme season-to-date of cold and snow as of Nov. 27.
[...]
Cities categorized as having an extreme winter, so far, ranked in the 99th percentile of the index for Nov. 27.
A combination of persistent cold from the Northeast to the Plains and a pair of expansive winter storms, Avery and then Bruce, gave this winter season a fast start.
Solar cycle 24 was exceptionally weak and cycle 25 is shaping up to be similar. Some have predicted that, if the trend continues, Earth may experience a "mini ice age" soon due to increased cloud formation reflecting the warming light from the sun: https://astronomynow.com/2015/07/17/diminishing-solar-activity-may-bring-new-ice-age-by-2030/

You really have some horribly inaccurate ideas about Texas. Remedy that if you dislike being correct rather than just having others think you're correct.

The fundamentals of Texas and Haiti are quite incomparable (Struggling to even find a "besides ..." that's not a hurricane), making the original comment pretty silly, calling for a sillier response.

Success doesn't come from what you start with. If it did, Texas would be every bit as poor as Haiti. Making what you have work for you is how you succeed. Of course, I don't expect you to know that.

If Texas was forced to pay reparations to their former colonial master for the economic loss of Texans gaining their freedom in a war for independence and freedom from slavery. And, the large nation nearby went along with this, and boycotted Texan products, to punish Texans for demanding their freedom. Having that large nearby nation "loan" Texas the money for these reparations then go after Texas for repayment of a loan never wanted nor accepted nor even a penny ever seen by Texas. Then later have that same large nation stage multiple coups in Texas whenever someone who was not a corrupt (but loyal client) came to power... then, and only then, a comparison between Texas and Haiti would not be completely ridiculous.
Yes, the large nation is the US, and it was the pro slavery southerners (like Texas) that were the cheerleaders for the US policy of isolating and punishing Haitians for the crime of wanting to be free.

It doesn't hurt for sure but sitting on a large tropical island should do pretty well for the residents also. The nation they share an island with is doing quite a lot better, for instance.
