Taylor Swift concert used facial recognition tech to identify stalkers

You're probably used to the presence of facial recognition cameras at airports and other transport hubs, but what about at concerts? That's the step Taylor Swift's team took at her May 18th show at the Rose Bowl, in a bid to identify her stalkers. According to Rolling Stone, the camera was hidden inside a display kiosk at the event, and sent images of anyone who stopped to look at the display to a "command post" in Nashville, where they were cross-referenced with other photos of the star's known stalkers.

As the target of numerous death and rape threats, Swift arguably has a valid motivation for leveraging such technology. However, it's unclear who has ownership of the photos of her concertgoers, or how long they will remain on file. Her representatives have also not yet responded to queries as to whether fans knew about the cameras.

Taylor Swift.

Well done, MDC! Of course, I expected nothing less. I find that alternative realities are best restricted to those who can handle them, and if you start popping pills to strangers at random, well, it is kind of like an American Election, or, with the proper drugs, an American Erection.

She stayed at my place for the day yesterday.

First thing I managed to do was to surreptitiously put my oxycodone in my pocket, then hide is someplace where she won't find it. I'm meeting her tonight so I didn't bring it with me, but as soon as I can be certain she won't know what I'm up to I'll take it to the drug disposal at the Portland Police Bureau.

Deniable plausibility is always better than plausible deniabilty, especially with addicts, and you are never doing them a favor with even the tease of a high. Leave yourself no options, MDC. Only way to be sure.

The Vancouver PD has a prescription disposal bin in its lobby.

I'm forced to confess I entertained the idea of just giving the stuff to her, as it might have even for just a day or two spared her from shooting very, very risky street drugs - she really did get sold fentanyl once, with the result that she woke up in an ambulance after the NarCaned her.

But no, for me to supply her fix even just once would established quite a dysfunctional dynamic between us.

Really the best I can hope for is to give her a safe place to sleep as well as to provide enough to eat. Even so, so only slept here just once, the other times since Sunday she's been out roaming around so as to satisfy her gnawing hunger. Each day she tells me she'll come back her to sleep but then doesn't because getting her fix turns out of be more difficult than she at first anticipated.
