As President Donald Trump threatened to allow a government shutdown if Congress did not provide funding for his proposed wall along the Mexican border, a Republican congressman from Ohio offered up alternative routes to getting the wall built: through Internet crowdfunding or through an initial coin offering.

During an interview with NPR's Morning Edition on December 12, Rep. Warren Davidson said that he had offered what he referred to as a "modest proposal" in the form of his "Buy a Brick, Build a Wall Act." The bill, which he submitted on November 30, would authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to accept monetary gifts from anyone "on the condition that it be used to plan, design, construct, or maintain a barrier along the international border between the United States and Mexico." The funds would go into an account called the "Border Wall Trust Fund," and a public website would be set up to process donations electronically.

Rep. Davidson told NPR's Steve Inskeep that the donations could come from anyone and be gathered in a number of ways."You could do it with this sort of, like, crowdfunding site," Davidson explained. "Or you could do it with blockchain—you could have Wall Coins."

If Mexico lost all the remittances that are sent home, then Mexico would indeed be paying for the wall. $2.94 BILLION in October 2018? That's a lot of money, ain't it? Divide that by roughly fifty million illegal aliens with allegiance to Mexico.

Are you really trying to say that 16% of the US population is made up of undocumented Mexican nationals?

Given that studies [pewresearch.org] put the total number of all undocumented aliens [migrationpolicy.org], regardless of country of origin, at ~11 million, it seems unlikely that there are almost five times as many Mexican nationals as the total. Is there some sort of multiple personality multiplier that I'm missing?

    Geez, Louise Runaway!

Have you had your booty bump [convio.net] yet today? If not, you should get right on that. Pun intended.

She provides her analysis for such numbers.

And I should trust Ann Coulter [youtube.com] because?

And I should take your word that her "analysis" is unbiased and has a reasonable methodology because?

Post analysis+Raw data+methodology or it didn't happen. The links I provided (I note that you provided none) provide such information.

Hmm...which is more compelling? The unsubstantiated third-party claims of an AC or the documented evidence of multiple organizations that provide documentation for their claims.

Gosh, that's a tough one. A real melon scratcher. yup.

So, exactly which "authority" do you consider to be unbiased?

I don't consider anyone to be unbiased unless I can see the data, the methodology and the analysis.

And I'm not going to watch the assuredly moronic youtube videos you linked.

Post links to some actual data. Or you're talking out of your ass.

That reply deserves a great big "FUCK YOU". This is current events, and I've linked to news stories carried by two different news agencies. If you think that anthropology is something that you can put in a lab, set up experiments, get consistent, reproducible results, then it is you who is talking out his ass. You might as well ask for a working reproduction of the universe.

I posted links from news sources. The videos happen to be hosted on Youtube, but they are accredited news sources. Pretty much all news sources have a presence on Youtube, and if they don't maintain their own presence, some of their stuff ends up there anyway.

You can scroll up - or I can just quote myself here:

Before Bush, or Dubya, took office, the estimate was twenty million. That same twenty million has floated around, all through his administration, then Obama's administration. Try to get a grip on that. BEFORE BUSH, during the Clinton years, both parties acknowledged that there were 20 million illegals.

Every single year since then, the illegals have been coming in. One year, there are more, next year there are fewer, then there are more again.

I call bullshit on all of it. Given that there were already twenty million, and they've continued to pour into the country since then, I'm calling it fifty million. Your paltry ten million is either an outright lie, or total ignorance. Your choice - I'm not just going to call you a liar.
