There's a lot you can make with a 3D printer: prosthetics, corneas, firearms — even an Olympic-standard luge.
You can even 3D-print a life-size replica of a human head — and not just for Hollywood. Forbes reporter Thomas Brewster commissioned a 3D-printed model of his own head to test the face unlocking systems on a range of phones — four Android models and an iPhone X.
Bad news if you're an Android user: only the iPhone X defended against the attack.

if someone can get a good enough scan of your head to unlock the phone, they could probably just unlock your phone, with your face...

Word is that faces are now being scanned in public. Go anywhere in public and you run the risk of your fingerprints, head, face, irises, etc etc etc all being scanned into a database.
Use a password on your phone. Don't let anyone see you type it in.

The scan would have to be acquired beforehand. Don't know if the face unlock is resilient when bumps and bruises are involved.
