[Ed. Note: A new poll went up just a few days ago to decide "Book Club picks for Jan. and Feb. 2019" and I didn't want to interrupt that process. Further, our polls are limited to 8 choices and this submission had many more than that. Given the timeliness of the topic, I decided to run this as a story, instead. Have Fun!]

    New years resolution:

Want to up the resolution of my desktop monitor to 8k and about 60 inches. Going to need a new graphics card, too...

I sure want to — with six monitors, I have a lot of non-adjacent regions. I think it'd be pretty nice to have all the applications and consoles sharing one large, continuous space.

Oh, you were thinking about my penis. I was just thinking about monitors. Since you're concentrating on my crotch, I should tell you that I'm unrepentantly heterosexual, and in a long-term committed relationship as well, so this line of thinking can only be a fantasy for you. Hope that wasn't hurtful. But you go, girl/boy/whatever!

My particular variety of work, such a monitor really would not help in any real way, but my office-mate Bruce is _heavily_ into his. He always has a bazillion source files open.

"There's no going back," he pointed out. "See that three hundred clams in your budget? Bump that up to five hundred."

Rather more important is to book a day in a spa for my lady. Her hair really gets her down. When I was with Bonita, for her to get her hair done was always a specific line item in our budget, and a very high priority as well.

For me, it's Starbucks. It's not about the coffee, it's about being in the direct presence of the rest of humanity. To have Sarah in my home, to make supper for her, to spend hours just talking.

That means quite a lot for me than hanging out in a crowded room full of strangers talking to each other. I'd forgotten what it was like to live with other people. Sarah is no longer a guest in my home, rather she lives in _our_ home.

Pardon me but there's something about having an actual female who really wants to shack up with me that leads to my writing being rather obsessively discussing just one topic.

In other news, for me to have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy would explain both the short-term memory loss and my Broca's Aphasia in both my speech and in my writing. Pernicious Anemia or any other form of Vitamin B12 Anemia would _not_. When one has a B12 Deficiency it does _not_ go away until you either die because your bone marrow's stem cells are no longer capable to dividing, or you get B12 Injections.

But Temporal Lobe Epilepsy is _quite_ transient, and would explain my rather... adventurous... sex life. But I must say just one word that's crucially important:

I've been having discussions with a couple of equally lucky people.

Some of the rest of us spent last year single, and don't forsee next year being any different.

      Dems da breaks of life.
