Tesla names Larry Ellison and Kathleen Wilson-Thompson to board after SEC settlement

Tesla named Larry Ellison and Kathleen Wilson-Thompson to its board on Friday, in compliance with an SEC settlement. The appointments add needed business and human resources expertise to the board — though add to questions about CEO Elon Musk's influence over the board.

Wilson-Thompson is the global head of human resources at Walgreens Boots Alliance and a former executive at Kellogg. Ellison is co-founder and executive chairman of Oracle, and recently disclosed a massive personal stake in Tesla.

[...] A Tesla spokesperson downplayed Ellison and Musk's personal relationship, saying the two had only socialized a handful of times and always in a group setting. The spokesperson said Musk and Ellison had not spoken for about a year leading up to Ellison's appointment to the board.

Actually, the only good thing about Larry is his database. Now, you clearly think he rips off customers and is an asshole. This is because for every use case you can imagine, in your little box of a world, Oracle is a ripoff. Good thing the guys paying him his millions have other use cases.

Let's say: you get fined $1mil for every minute of downtime. You store trading analytics upon which high frequency trading is done by computers. Your database is 5PB, and it needs to be in perfect atomic format - you don't have time to figure out problems with your data and miss a day. If you lose a day of data, or have a day of corrupt data, you have to pay the lost trade volume for that day. $10 billion. Your Oracle costs are high. The hardware from Oracle costs 200k/year, and the database costs you 2mil/year.

So, your budget is blown by 2 minutes of downtime, or 10 minutes of corrupt data. Enjoy your Postgress or whatever joke it is you use.

I'm pretty sure after all the meth, your dick is shriveled and too tiny to fit in Larry's mouth.
