The inept and corrupt presidency of Donald Trump has unwittingly triggered the fatal blow to the American empire—the abandonment of the dollar as the world’s principal reserve currency. Nations around the globe, especially in Europe, have lost confidence in the United States to act rationally, much less lead, in issues of international finance, trade, diplomacy and war. These nations are quietly dismantling the seven-decade-old alliance with the United States and building alternative systems of bilateral trade. This reconfiguring of the world’s financial system will be fatal to the American empire, as the historian Alfred McCoy and the economist Michael Hudson have long pointed out. It will trigger an economic death spiral, including high inflation, which will necessitate a massive military contraction overseas and plunge the United States into a prolonged depression. Trump, rather than make America great again, has turned out, unwittingly, to be the empire’s most aggressive gravedigger.

Consider that Khaddafi wanted to established an all-Africa monetary union.

Which is why (((they))) had their lackeys execute him.

      That's the intention, yes.

Odd how the people who usually ((())) others know so very little history. Jews were forbidden by Mosaic law, IIRC, from usury; when Christianity ruled, European Jews were often pushed into finance because, due to the Christian (Jewish, but stolen) injunction against usury, it was seen as low-status work, literally bad for the soul. Now, of course, the worst usurers on the planet often identify themselves as Christians, and round and round it goes.

The irony here is that it's the very Jew-hate the parentheses-obsessed wingnuts spout that lead to such usury in the first place, all those centuries ago.

"Jews were forbidden by Mosaic law, IIRC, from usury"

        Eh, almost.

Jews are forbidden from collecting usury from fellow Jews. You don't make a loan to your brother - you give him what he needs and he pays it back as quick as he can, G_d willing. Islam contains basically the same rule, as does Christianity, though in the last there are very few that remember it.

There's no prohibition on charging market rates for any commodity, including coinage, outside of your own faith, however. And all three faiths have a wide range of views on what that means, from the biggest tent to the smallest.

I'm a liberal. I consider all men brothers until they prove themselves something else. On the opposite side of the spectrum you have the "Orthodox" ("reactionary" would be more accurate) religion which has the backing, not only of the tiny and almost insignificant state of Israel, but of all the "Christian" powers that created and guarantee it, which is fundamentally rejectionist, which reverse that rule, and considers all men snakes until and unless properly proven to belong.

If they didn't exist, the anti-semites would have to hallucinate it.

This is why I'm actually interested in what the other poster will say. It's often, in my experience, a mix with some truth in it. Acknowledging the bits that are true and putting them in perspective is much more effective than stonewalling or ostracizing, IMHOP.
