Medical Xpress:

Australians report having sex once or twice a week, on average. For Brits, it's less than once a week, while Americans report having sex two to three times a week.

We can't know for sure how often individuals actually have sex. Some people may incorrectly report their sexual frequency, either by mistake or on purpose. But the national estimates data are based on representative samples, so they're a useful guide.
...
In fact, Australians and Americans are having less sex than they used to in past decades.

Aussies had sex about 20 times fewer in 2013 than a decade before. Americans had sex nine times fewer, on average, in 2014 than a decade before.

Increased competition for our free time from smartphones, expanded entertainment options, and other sources is cited as causes for the drop in frequency.

See, you speak of your world, your reality, all that. You mentioned a 6-figure salary. You are...not the majority, let's say. Not even close. And you're surrounded by what sounds like some kind of Stepford Wives nightmare. Most of the country is much, much worse off than you are, and bears the scars of it.

I'm pretty sure that A/C lives in a fictional version of 1953.

He will probably start making comments about colored folk soon.

    It's just 3x a not-so-special situation. Divide and you'll see:

    3 cars become 1 car
    14 people become 4.67 people
    $165,000 becomes $55,000

It's all pretty reasonable for 3 families. I'm not living in a fancy way. That is below the median for the USA.

The per-person housing is also below the median. (details might identify too much)

I had to look up "Stepford Wives". Apart from the robot aspect, that seems like something to aspire to. My mom and grandmothers are/were completely that way. My wife mostly is, though sometimes she does sneaky shit or falls asleep without the house being tidy. She did make my lunch today, which is getting back to the way she was for years prior. As in the Stepford Wives, my wife/mom/grandma are all educated, in STEM subjects. They got MRS degrees so they could be housewives. It's really a better way to live, with far less conflict over who does what. Everybody has a traditional role.

If that works for you and them, more power to the lot of you I suppose. Just don't imagine for a moment your experience is typical of normal people. And if the economy crashes hard enough, you and your Stepford aspirations are in for several very rude awakenings in a row, given how insulated you've all been from life down at street level.

The thing you don't get about people who make that kind of money is that many of them are very aware of what life is like at that lower level and strive to keep themselves from falling to that level. I own a small business with 600k in assets that brings in 400k in revenue and 100k/year after taxes/reinvestment in assets/insurance/etc to spend on my salary and the salary of my employee. I might make 500k/year but I only get 70k/year in cash for all my work. Liberals like to shit all over the small business owners but they are taking massive risk for a decade of very little profit before you might see that 75k/year+. In another ten years, if the economy stays fairly stable, I will be able to make 150-200k/year and be able to pay for one employee making a lot or two employees making little. If I screw up at all its my guy out in the cold. Stop fapping to your own sob story, just because you are poor doesn't mean others who tried harder don't also know what its like. And before you get all "woe is me" about some other outlying issue like tens of thousands in health costs, ive been there, done that, and paid the bill.

I'm glad for you! Don't get the wrong impression, I'm always glad to see someone make it, especially if they have to rise out of dirt shit poverty. Just remember not to fall prey to survivorship bias: the ratio of stories like yours to those who don't survive is tiny.
