Here in the U.S., the presidential election season, like Christmas, seems to start earlier and earlier each time.

In keeping with this, the Democratic National Committee is making waves by announcing that it will exclude Fox News, which has the largest viewership of the major cable news networks by a considerable margin, from debate coverage of DNC presidential candidates.

Thomas Lifson outlines a number of reasons this may not be a good move.

One is that from a historical and strategy perspective:

Presidential debates inevitably favor the challengers. Trump can push them in that direction by agreeing to debates only if Fox News is included. That forces them to either accept FNC or have no debates at all. If they accept, that makes FNC the debate worth watching. The rest are discredited as Democrat "safe spaces,"

And it appears he has pounced and done exactly that from his twitter account:

Democrats just blocked @FoxNews from holding a debate. Good, then I think I’ll do the same thing with the Fake News Networks and the Radical Left Democrats in the General Election debates!

Really all either party has to do is A) not be crazy and/or B) keep their idiot mouths shut to win.

Neither of these seems to be in the cards dealt to either side, so it should be a heck of a ride.

Why would they? Good question. But then, most of the rest of the media is the de facto propaganda wing of the DNC. So, why would any right winger consent to a debate hosted by any of them? Going back to TFA and TFS, Trump may well decline to participate in any debates. Which TFA and TFS notes, are generally of benefit to challengers, rather than to incumbents.

No, not really; they still promote war-mongering authoritarian propaganda. MSNBC is the propaganda arm of the DNC, and CNN has a massive neutrality bias where they pretend that two unequal positions are equal and debatable. Both have a right-wing slant, just less so than Fox News.

Only if you're measuring from an irrelevant European standard. Measuring from a relevant US standard, FNC is establishment-right and absolutely every other television news network is middle-left-wing at best.

Incorrect on two counts. First, he was impeached, not just "started the proceedings". Second, that was about lying under oath about sex, not just sex. If it had just been about sex JFK would have been on the stand in the Senate before he could manage to get himself shot. Okay, it was also about style a bit. JFK made Clinton look like a little JV bitch at a pro game style-wise.

How's that Stormy Daniels thing going for your side, huh? You guys should not have put so much faith in a slimy ambulance chaser. He's kind of melted down over the past year, hasn't he? Did Stormy ever pay that judgment for Trump's legal costs yet? Did Michael ever pay off his multiple court judgments? Or overdue rents? Or spousal support? Or unpaid taxes?

Here's a news flash for you. They spiked it right before the election because that was when it was going to be published. Trump is married and did not want to deal with a pissed off wife and an election at the same time. Do you idiots really believe that Mr. Grab-them-by-the-pussy thought it would affect one single vote given all the other things that he said and did that CNN harped on continuously? Oh yeah. It's okay that he thinks his daughter is doable and he feels he can grab any woman he wants because money, but OMG I can't vote for this man! He poked somebody while he was married.

Republicans do a lot of shitfaced things, which get them called out on a LOT more things a lot more often. Fox on the other hand was created from the ground up to shill for the republicans.

Not really surprising, that's probably more a convenience thing than him hunting down Russian news particularly. RT is bundled with OAN on KlowdTV, so if you want OAN (which is a positive/patriotic, and right leaning, news source) you also wind up with RT (which is certainly slanted, but overall to the right of CNN and MSNBC from what I can tell...if only because they don't harp on the Russia collusion stuff for some reason.)
