United Parcel Service Inc wants to get beyond U.S. doorsteps with a new push into healthcare.

The world’s largest package delivery firm is preparing to test a U.S. service that dispatches nurses to vaccinate adults in their homes, Reuters has learned, as the company and its healthcare clients work to fend off cost pressures and competitive threats from Amazon.com.

UPS did not disclose which vaccines it would be using in the project, but drug and vaccine maker Merck & Co told Reuters it is looking at partnering with the company for the initiative.

[...] Here is how the test, slated to launch later this year, will operate: Workers in UPS’ 1.7 million-square-foot healthcare complex at Worldport will package and ship the vaccine to one of the more 4,700 franchised U.S. UPS stores. A home health nurse contracted by UPS’ clinical trial logistics unit known as Marken will collect the insulated package, transport it the “last mile” to the patient’s home and administer the vaccine, which will target a viral illness in adults.

It's certainly possible that they're simply doing their best to prevent influenza, as you state. I judge it to be a very low probability.

First, the idea that a government agency gives a fuck about any of the public seems laughable.

Second, the CDC has put out studies on gun ownership, which is outside of their purview, which were nothing but a sack of lies. False in one, false in all.

Third, more personally, a few years ago, my elderly father dutifully took the CDC recommended pneumonia vaccine. Weeks later, he died of pneumonia. (no, he didn't have pneumonia prior to taking the vaccine)

I trust nothing they say, nothing they do, none of their "studies", and the only reason not to nuke their site from orbit is the possibility that one or two people inside the place aren't totally corrupt. Yet. Probably the interns.

I judge it far more likely that even if the influenza vaccine is merely that and nothing more, that the real reasons they have for pushing it is due to kickbacks from the vaccine manufacturers, as well as getting the public used to the government injecting them each year -- so that if they want to put something in it later the system for doing so is well-established already.
