Inkstone News:

Federal officials have labeled Boston a major target of Chinese spies who are looking to steal trade and technology secrets from the US.

US Assistant Attorney General John Demers, who leads a federal force against Chinese espionage in America, said Massachusetts had become a focus of his team's work, the Associated Press reported.
...
Massachusetts is home to top-ranked universities including Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It also hosts military contractors such as weapon maker Raytheon and defense system provider Mercury Systems.

As part of the China Initiative, officials said they had met with local companies and colleges last week to encourage them to bring suspected instances of espionage to the attention of federal investigators.

Lelling said the large number of Chinese nationals living in Boston also made the city a potential espionage target, but officials added that most were in the US for legitimate reasons, such as study.

Technology workers should keep a close eye on Wang?

Oh look. One big tribe is feeling threatened about a bad thing that they think the other tribe may do to them in the near future. More News at 11.

Never mind that we could advance so much faster if instead of hoarding wealth and technology we distributed it for everyone to build upon. Don't people understand exponential growth? Research progresses so much faster if more people have access to previous research. New infrastructure gets built so much quicker if more people have access to proper tools and equipment. Then that infrastructure can be used to make more tools and infrastructure.
But noooo.. That would give the other tribe a competitive advantage. We certainly can't allow that...

It makes me sick to witness this over and over again in this world. We should just Get Over this tribalism bullshit.

Then we can actually get going with important stuff, like teching up, solving world problems, and building that space elevator and Von Neuman probes to unlock the near infinite resources lying up for grabs right here in our solar system. Then our entire global population will be able to live like kings, with machines serving our every need or desire.

Oh who am I kidding. This rock is like a giant crab bucket. We're more likely to blow ourselves up before that ever happens.

Ever hear of the Prisoners Dilemma? Doesn't mean a thing to complain about the game when you don't bother to understand the rules.
