If using the law to corral antivaxxers doesn’t work at first, try, try again. At least, that seems to be the lesson learned by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. On Tuesday, he declared a state of emergency and mandated residents of the Williamsburg neighborhood, where an outbreak of measles has been raging since last fall, get vaccinated for the viral disease. Those who choose not to will risk the penalty of a $1,000 fine.

Apparently I'm a survivor. Grandpa had WWII, I survived MEASLES, there were no vaccinations, and a really lower death rate than what is apparently reported today.
State of emergency, OMG. Why not declare one for car accidents, or the bee colonies collapse? those are an order of magnitude worse, at least.
Likely, declaring emergency is wrong when the other party does it.
By the way, after getting measles I was like new, after a shot of vaccines in the army I fell ill with some slight fever, in a day it subsided. But I had trouble climbing the second ring of stairs, I was gasping, unusual for a youngster under military training who would march all day and could get punched in the belly just for fun, only 4 days earlier.

Too bad we can't just ignore everything politicians say. They are professional liars, and probably don't even realize it.
