From the insides of Business Insider

As a huge fire took hold of Paris' Notre-Dame Cathedral on Monday evening, alt-right figures were in no time spreading rumours and disinformation on social media linking the blaze to Muslims and hinting at a sinister cover up.

French officials on Monday night were quick to say that arson was unlikely to be the cause of the blaze as it engulfed the roof of the 12th century cathedral, but far-right activists and propagandists were already all over social media channels pushing conspiracies.

Conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec compared the blaze to 9/11, despite no link having made to terrorism by French officials, while alt-right activist Faith Goldy falsely claimed that three days previously "a Muslim jihadis [sic] in Paris was arrested for planning a terrorist attack at Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Funny, there was this little AC scurrying about here on SN yesterday, saying things like this.

...but well countered here, also by an AC:

Police have begun questioning workers who were carrying out renovations at the cathedral. The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into "involuntary destruction by fire", indicating they believe the cause of the blaze was accidental rather than criminal.

The Paris prosecutor's office said it was treating the fire as an accident, ruling out arson and possible terror-related motives, at least for now.

Or to look at it another way, why bother trying to burn the place down now when significant amounts of the cultural artifacts have already been removed due to the renovation? If they wanted to burn the place down, they could have done that prior to the renovation or after it was completed for more impact.

Because the renovation would give them more opportunity to get into areas they normally couldn't get to. Just put on a safety vest and a hardhat, and then you can start climbing around the scaffolding without people paying too much attention. Even the other construction guys would probably assume you're just with another contractor/company. That way you can get something going and get back out -- not everyone wants to go on a suicide mission.

I'm not saying this is what happened. I'm just pointing out that the renovation could be used by a potential attacker.

So no building should ever get renovated then according to you?

Thats a false premise and you know it. All he was saying is that it was most likely a construction accident (although the company claims they had nothing operating on that day that could have sparked a fire) but that construction work is messy and can leave holes in security for possible attackers to get in though.

You are building up strawmen rather than accept additional possibilities. It is fact that Notre Dame has had several attempted attacks in recent years, it is important to consider, however unlikely that it is, that we saw a successful one.

It's also %100 plausible that these mystery construction workers could have worn muslim turbans and have koran verses about killing infidels tatooed on their bodies. I'm just sayin'. The fact no-one saw any of this suggests alien involvement using invisibility fields that we can only dream about. And a cover up by Macron and the international order (Clintons, etc).
